Got a letter from the solicitor, dog owner states: I'm "a fraudulent opportunist, liar", and I "attacked their dog with the post in my hand"...
This is a dog that jumped up and tore a parcel from my hands, and shredded it ( Their parcel! )
This is the dog that chased a colleague across a road.
This is the dog that snarled, barked at another colleague who was talking to an off duty police officer.
This a dog that chased me onto a main road, snarling. snapping, barking.
This a dog that the owner had a box put onto a wall, and requested my not to use the letter box, as post going into the letter box was being shredded, by the dog...

Oh, by the way, don't believe any of this, as apparently...I'm a LIAR!!!

I have only been threatened by dogs a handful of times in the six years I have worked as a postie. On nearly every occasion facing the dog and dropping my pouch in front of me has deterred the dog, but on one occasion it was obvious that the dog wasn't going to stop and I had no choice but to kick it in the face. The dog yelped and ran off but I did feel really sorry for it afterwards. At the end of the day he would have bitten me had I not stopped him.

Anyway he was delivering to a block of flats and was walking along the balcony when an Alsation came out a flat and went for him as the dog jumped up at him he apparently grabbed both it's front legs then pulled them outwards killing the dog, he then tossed over the balcony and carried on with his round.

Maybe we can get the Para's to train us on how to deal with dangerous dogs

I can believe that, I would do the same myself, pushing the legs outward bursts the Dog's heart.

Definately one way to tackle a trained killer guard dog in a conflict zone but a bit extreme for a family pet protecting it's property. Can understand though that his training may have kicked in. Did he ever slot a disagreeable manager?
