You should be getting an additional 40% payment but i bet your dom only gives you 20%

Re: 4 weeks worth of D2D's
read the agreement, now as i said it does not state anywhere that 20 % shouldd be delivered each day, as i have said in a pevious thead, this is the problem with vague agreements which leave things open to interpretation, what the door to door agreement actually states isDee Plish wrote:See the agreement here...zx135 wrote:Where is the 20% per day coming from? Thats not part of any national agreement!
http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 36&t=11243" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You'll find the 20% per day mentioned in there.
"Full-time staff will be able to manage five day delivery of d2d by delivering it is possible with first delivery but also with second delivery to ensure the service specification is met"
and also
"there will be a maximum of 3 royal mail door to door items per week, all items should be delivered monday to friday to meet the week specification, by local agrement and on an individual voluntary basis, royal mail door to door items may be delivered with mail on saturday mornings"
As i have said, there is no agreement about 20% being delivered each day, the problems we have in our office are a little two sided, we have duty holders not allowing floaters to deliver some of them as a result the floater is losing out, and the opposite we have some floaters refusing to deliver them and the duty holder having to work harder, my point is that we need to start getting some clear cut agreements which spell out exactly what we can or cant do, anything that is open to the slightest interpretation will ALWAYS lead to disagreement!

Re: 4 weeks worth of D2D's
You are being paid a premium. You are getting paid to deliver 4 lots when you are already going to the same addresses with the 3 lots that are due.DemonPostie wrote:I do holiday cover and such, and have just been put on a round where nobody's done D2D's for a good few weeks. Now somehow, despite the fact we've only HAD d2d's for three weeks since xmas, the boss has asked me to do the 4 weeks worth sitting under the frame. Fine, fair enough, I need the cash.
But should I be paid a premium, as I am only really supposed to do 20% per day, and I am effectively doing 80% per day? (4 weeks worth, 5 days to do them in...)
Don't tell me I shouldn't be doing them at all, I'm sure I shouldn't but like I said due to personal reasons I am desperate for the poppy...

yep leave themmorleyposty wrote:let me get this right?shadow wrote:I was told if you get your D2Ds any later than wednesday you can refuse to do them. I was also told if you get them a DAY late it's an extra 20% and if they are 2 days late then thats 40% extra they have to give you.
i work wed-sat
so if im on cover from wed-sat then i dont have to do d2d's if no one bothers to do atleast 40% monday & tuesday?

wrong there is no agreement that you must do 20% per day, you do still have to do them, but only if you have time with in your hours

Re: 4 weeks worth of D2D's
The 20% a day comes from the fact that these are due for delivery from monday to Friday so splitting the week into 5 equal parts gives you the magic 20%. This is a bit iffy because Saturday is not included in the equation so the rest day can skew the figure.
Now this figure is not written in tablets of stone so how you do them over the course of the week is down to you BUT they are the responsibility of the person/persons doing the walk on that week. If you find that D2Ds are left from a previous week there is no compulsion for you to do them unless you want to.
They are part of your normal delivery but there have been instances where managers have tried to not pay protracted if you have D2Ds in the delivery. This is totally out of order but don't try to load up 100% on one day

I would guess that the 20% figure came from when walks are covered on overtime, and management started implementing the rule that you had to take D2Ds as well as the mail-when asked how much the response was the amount for that day, ie 1/5th or 20%

How about I get paid for none, and do none? Sounds fair to me.
