As for cards - how about other companies, had a guy chasing me down the road the other day asking if I dropped a card through his door, not RM I said, good old private companies that do a better job than us :left:

It is a poor attempt at a story.
If only 1% of the country can "remember" getting a card while they were in the shower or hoovering you have enough whingers for a story.
But what does it achieve. :cuppa

Very true, just typical of piss-poor journalism (no offence to any real journalists intended) that seems to infect our country.. Problem is when there's so many dead-heads in this country that will watch and believe every word no matter how exaggerated then there's a market for it...... :d'oh!
Of course, it's us posties that cause all the problems, not the management, but of course nobody sees the management, they only see us so we are the targets.

Sounds like mandelsonian propaganda.

It looks like GMTV are trying to bias their investigation.

"Postal service nightmare?
Has your postman presumed you're not home?

Has your postman put a 'while you were out card' through your letterbox when you were at home? Email us your stories

Do you have a gripe with your postal service? Have you ever received a "while you were out card" notifying you of a package, even though you were in the house at the time?

We're looking for people to take part in an investigation to discover how good their postmen are."

They are only asking for people to tell them about negative experiences.

We should all complain to OFCOM and send GMTV our positive experiences of our own posties.

"We should all complain to OFCOM and send GMTV our positive experiences of our own posties."

That's the problem,no-one is interested in positive stories.
It is a sad fact, but in the news industry and in society in general "negativity sells".
We only build celebrities up so we can knock them down. :cuppa

We can only do what we can, I sent an e mail to around 60 posties and other contacts using the inital post on here as a header and Noggin1969's excellent reply as a suggested e mail to Twat Tv,sorry GMTV.
The more you know, the worse it gets.

i've just emailed them about the time when on a saturday morning i knocked on someones door and was greeted with a bloke shouting "that if you ever knock on my door again i'll come down there and kick your effing head in".

Had to suspend deliveries to his house, he was given a warning by the police and had to write a letter of apology to a rather shaken postie!

Oh and how about all the times when parcelnet, hdnl, etc leave a card without knocking or just throw it over the fence??????????

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
