Re: Slow Prepping
A letter every six seconds into the frame should be easily achieved.

Re: Slow Prepping
dont panic mate, i,ve been prep tested 3 times and failed them all, achieving a similar rate to yourself. certainly does seem like a b&h tool as noted. with around 1 hr to prep 3 mech trays, sky mags, flats, d2d, packets, and re-directions. no pressure eh?

Re: Slow Prepping
I can't see how they can set a standard, I do rural reserve and typically out of the 300 odd deliveries more than two thirds will be house names eg Yew tree cottage followed by rose cottage followed by lower house etc. as opposed to a town delivery 1, 2, 3 The High St etc. therefore it obviously takes longer until the job is VERY well known to the postie. The job I am on this week has 3 Rose Cottages and 3 Yew Trees.

Re: Slow Prepping
Out of that 950 items, how many are prepped by FTers before you get there??
There is not a single PT walk in my office that doesnt have at least 1 mech tray boxed in before PTer arrives.
The 25 hour guys get 95% boxed in.

Hahaha. Try 0% for a more accurate picture. Only ever gets thrown in if there's a spare body i.e you can't rely on it being done.mclovin wrote:Out of that 950 items, how many are prepped by FTers before you get there??

Re: Slow Prepping
I'm on a 28.45 contract, and I have never, EVER found anything already prepped for me. Even if I'm stuck on a walk I've never even seen before, I just get on with it and cash in on OT... :)

Re: Slow Prepping
I would love to make a stand and bring it back, however as long as they are willing to pay me the OT, I am in no financial situation to refuse...mclovin wrote:Well if it cant be done in the time allocated hand it back, its the only way managers listen.
However, if they ever expect me to work over my time without paying me, then that's a different matter...

Re: Slow Prepping
I think he is saying that his average across the whole morning is 6 items per minute, not 6 items per minute just when standing at the frame. I was prep tested like this years ago.dohnut wrote:same here, no offence but 6 a minute is VERY slow escpecially as you have been on the walk for 2 weeks, ussually takes me 2 days to get used to the frame, and as above 26 is the standard I think or maybe 24?Bazman wrote:6 Items per minute? RM standard is 13 per minute?
I've been prep tested multiple times and the standards I've been told are 26 letters per minute or 22 flats per minute.
Is there any offical documentation on this?
