Our office just had a meeting today to continue an Overtime Ban throughout the period of Christmas, members may lose out at this time, but the thought of helping RM out when they are obviously attacking us daily dose not make any sense whatsoever. If it was the case RM were thinking of you would they be trying to impose ever increasing workloads without agreements or imposing revisions that reduce F/T hours to P/T it beggars belief how people try to justify blatant selfishness and greed in the hope that other people who do make a stand are going to benefit them in the long run, thus without them losing a penny. If the srike was just about money i'd still be working so f....n wake up some of you.!!

I thought it went rite across the board that after a strike no O/T simples as R/M dont want you raking back the money you have lost through striking .It doesnt make sense but then again desperate times calls for desperate measures i suppose.
They paid overtime to the non-strikers in our office to clear the cut-offs.

Plenty of delivery staff at my depot took Sat off, picket line duty and then today came in early, worked lunch break and cleared all o/s mail ........ what is the point of losing a day's pay when we do this?

Cannot see the point of continuing strike action and losing pay when only single figures carried over mail today.

We need something from above to tell the membership to start an OT ban except for the SA,s I have not been vocal with the guys that have been booking due to the fact they are standing beside me on the picket line.
Would prefer them to book rather than the strike breakers who would walk the streets till 6pm to gather their dirty money.
The managers look rather flumoxed today as people cut off left right and centre and they had "they created the monster they can deal with it" ringing in their ears!!!!!!!

There should be a nationwide work to rule and overtime ban while this dispute is on ,the same old part timers working on full time jobs and others working days off to help the managers out , FOOK THEM I say ,whats the point of striking then working over to help them run the office smoothly,we will all get shafted in the end

Came in at my usual start time today (6.15) and there they all were, the morons that come in early, use their cars, don't take breaks etc! :arrrghhh
Some people extended and about 10 of us cut-off.
I didn't get out of the office till 11.15 (after my 40min break) :cuppa so only did half my walk, still I finished on time and wasn't too tired! :chuckle

In our office we are extending just enough to make some cash back but not enough to clear-up.So thier paying out o/t for no effect surely this is beating them at thier own game as we all go out the gate on strike days.

We seem to be cursed what with the amount of idiots we have in the job.

WE'RE IN A DISPUTE, DON'T DO OVERTIME OF ANY SORT. If we want a satisfactory resolution sometime soon, I would ask colleagues not to go out of their way to clear backlogs faster than they need be.

Work to rule. Don't come in early, don't use your cars, take your break's and break off. It's simples.

There is nothing management can do about us breaking off. Our D.O. would be f***ed if we all broke off, there would be loads of mail undelivered and it would prove a point to management that we need hours back in the office. Most of our staff are part time with many employees on 25 hour contracts, which is only meant to be delivery. These 25 hour employees ALL PREP AND DELIVER. So they are working 35 to 40 hours a week. If they just did their 25 hours and everyone else also worked to rule our office simply would not get all the post delivered. They would HAVE to give more hours back to us which would mean making the 25 hour contracts up to 33 or 35 hour contracts. Working to rule is sustainable for months even indefinitely. We would lose no money, we would not be so tired and would have a better quality of life and have time to spend with our families. If work to rule was implemented nationally we could tell the press this is industrial action and the press can report on the inevitable backlogs of mail. Work to rule would have the same desired results as a strike but we would be able to sustain the industrial action for longer, with no detrimental affects to posties. This industrial action would result in massive backlogs of mail and would provoke media interest. It's a no lose situation. As time went on pressure would mount on lower management causing them stress, prolonged periods of stress often leads to depression and other mental illness. DONT STRIKE. WORK TO RULE.

Defeats the whole purpose of a strike by clearing the backlog on o/t. Don't you think? :hmmmm

I had no option but to extend today thanks to the driver doing packets instead of dropping off bags first. 40 minutes waiting for the selfish get, thats after I took the first 2 out myself.

Why are you taking 2 bags out  and yes you did have an option, if your drivers late with your bags just wait for him, then cut off and bring even more back :Very Happy
