id rather see someone take the actual strike day and then work their day off or do other overtime to make up hours than to break the picket line

dados wrote:sorry ppl but i am subject to an IVA,i have not told anyone in my D.O (cos its none of their feckin business),i have no choice it is a legal & binding stipulation, this is the only job i could get that still pays weekly,i stayed out in '07 cos i had a bit of money stashed away (wink, wink)
but i'm snookered this time, the grief i get on the picket line is nothing against what i would get if i fall behind on this, once again sorry
If you have documentary evidence of an IVA then I would think an approach to the Hardship fund through your rep or branch would be advisable. Although I don't know all the rules and regulations behind it, to me it sounds as though this is exactly what the hardship fund is designed for.

we'll be on our 19th day of action this friday. some of us have lost 19 day's pay as we haven't been on leave during the strike and it never seem's to fall on our rest day. i've heard some in our office talking about coming in now. they're falling behind with mortgagaes and utility bill's and now xmas is coming up fast. those of us still for fighting seem to be in the minority right now. and although for my own personal reason's i would never cross a picket line or brake a strike i can understand why some will if this carries on. if the strike does start to fail due to people going back i think the fault will lay with the union for not getting everone out at the same time. next monday some of us will have lost a full month's pay.

For anyone who disagrees with the way any fellow worker is being treated in this company there simply is NO VALID REASON FOR STRIKE BREAKING, we all have money troubles for Christ sake, this coming fri and mon strikes will wipe out half my wage packet due to the way my hours are structured but still my principles matter more to me as well as the common respect amongst fellow strikers who wont and NEVER WILL cross a picket line. :Applause
