Its called. Go and do the dirty work for us because we haven't got the balls to go and do it ourselves. Once we have finished with you, you can go and f..... off with the rest, as we will no longer have any need for you. This is the way all large companies rationalise. It is a set template that was brought out in British Industries back in the eighties. They employ senior managers on vast salaries who are nothing but hatchet men. They have their underlings running around like headless chickens, and then s..... on them from a vast height once they are past their sell by date.
Come on you gutless underlings, stand up and be counted. You never know, it might be the hatchet men that are culled.

Our office only has 1 manager anyway and things run perfectly well when she's not there!
Thats nothing personal against her, she's actually an ok person (for a manager), just surplus to requirements in the office.

hairyjack wrote::hmmmm If this is the case, why do they continue to recruit managers left, right and centre? :hmmmm
Reason for that is they are just postmen in shirt and tie to cover sick leave and duties they cant cover and to driver vans(Most should not be in them any way fkn crash most of them and then run away and claim it was a postman) to collect mail from Mail centers.

textbook elementary Corporate B/S - Seagull Management ( lot's of noise from overhead ) - it always makes me laugh , how some of them just don't get it , sheltered lives - I guess :hmmmm

past the sell by date is also useful idiot - but only for so long - spot on about running round like headless chickens for the empire builders of the worst kind , scarcely any wonder there is instuitionalized H&B :hmmmm

I'm sure, or maybe I'm wrong, but in the movie the Full Monty, the Supervisor stood up for the Owners, and argued with the workers.
Later, HE TOO was on the dole!!!
This a bit Deja Vu, don't you think. Or did I say that earlier...Spooky.

Thats nothing.I kid you not.In my MC in London,we had five line managers supervising five postmen,on one morning shift last week. They then have the cheek to say it costs alot to run our office.

:lfo wanted just three layers of management - The Walmart way , :hmmmm it was Cluster DUM's over a group of Offices with Team Leaders who would be on a Postman's wage + £40 , apparently there was too much paperwork and bueaurocracy getting in the way .

Whether it would work is another thing . It was certainly the " idea " in 2007 .

The amount of layers in RM management was supposed to be absolutely unprecedented in British Industry . I think RM got it down to 14 . One RM statement said " Many of our managers operate on a Command & Ignore Basis - they don't have the necessary skills to move our teams forward , they'll need retraining - if it doesn't work , they'll have to be paid off " .

Strangely enough , nobody heard anymore on that subject .

Surely one way to save money would be to put the line managers on 1hr contracts. They could claim the o/t if they could prove they actually did anything during the day and we would save a whack of money during their holidays and extended sick leave.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

They could ill afford to go on strike, the fact being offices would work without any problems at all, people would be happy the lazy ones amoungst us would be exposed and dealt with by colleagues and everyone would be happy just to crack on without the daily harrasment of these clowns.
