Only just found this thread. I aksed the question on this board about PF people striking (I work for PF btw) to which I was told the strikes have nothing to do with PF. We have the same s**t managers who try and put as much work on you as possible followed up by the same amount of bullying and harrassment if you don't bend over the desk and take it like a biatch. I am not a delivery driver no more (thank God) and cannot comment on PF drivers picking up postal workers stuff from the post offices. Our union rep is crap. In fact the union members at our depot are crap. I refused to work the ot and had people moaning about why I was coming back at 3:30 which was the proper finish time. I told them ot is not mandatory and they dont have to do it but for some stupid reason they felt they had too and feared getting bollocked by the managers.
Regarding self emplyed. There are only maybe 8 out of 35-40 drivers who are self employed at our place.
