Mr Higson proposed that the union did not activate its ballot, saying that the company would agree to suspend the timescale which the CWU has to follow for taking industrial action under employment law.

Mr Higson said he was offering an extension of four weeks to December 1 provided that no industrial action was taken.

Nice try - we agree - they come to no agreement we look bad striking in December - Sneaky but you have to admire the tactics .

but it the media, they are playing mind games with us,brain washing the public, and none of them have got the decency to actually find out what it like to be a postman these days,instead in their interest to dig as much dirt as possible on us

An example of poor research and reporting on our local BBC News programme tonight. The story is the same old how the small business will suffer as a consequence of our action. They report on a woman selling cuddling toys online and show her putting a toy in a post and preparing it for posting. She then says this package is light and would cost about £1.50p with RM but we are having to use couriers and they charge £8.50p which the business would not be able to sustain for more than a week.

FFS isn't that one of the reasons we are going on strike, to ensure we provide a universal service at a reasonable price. If the reporter had done any research he would have know this simple fact. He then interviews a union rep who makes 5 or 6 bullet points as to why we have been forced into strike action (RM declined to send a representative to be interview). Ok lets look at those points says the reporter. The rep gives a good answer to the 1st point raised and is halfway through answering his 2nd point when he is interrupted by the reporter who says that they have run out of time. The reporter then turns to the camera a reads a full statement from RM.

Can anyone tell me what was in this letter from Higson to the CWU that seems to have blasted any chance of a settlement ?, I think I've read every thread on here, but cant fond anything about its contents.

As for tomorrow in delivery lets all do the job properly, start on time, and more importantly finish on time, no way we will clear it on Saturday.
