Royal Mail must be fuming that this document has been leaked at this time especially as it increases the pressure media wise. Look out for the times tomorrow and FT plus the observor on Sunday and Billy is on both the Andrew Marr show and the Adam Bolton show on Sunday.

Whilst Royal Mail are trying to deny the document is theirs its funny that that all the senior managers were in an hotel at Heathrow on 24th September the date of this document.

Now whilst nothing in this document should really surprise anyone if they had their finger on the pulse with Royal Mail , the language in it just confirms that it really is a do or die dispute.

On Deliveries we know that Royal Mail want to introudue later starts with a last letter of 3 Oclock for urban walks and 4 0clock for rurals. We know they want to make the span longer 4.5 hours has been one of the proposals , we know they want to have Saturday as a normal attendance, they want to introduce their own unagreed indoor standards, they want to put d2d into workload and do away with the payment. On top of all this they want reduce cost per item in deliveries which basically means to make part time duties the majority within the bussiness and to drive out the number of full time jobs in inudustry.

On Mail Centres the document openly states that a major mail centre review will be announced in October. Royal Mail have stated to the union on numerous occasions that there are no more on the blocks for clousre and no joined up national Royal Mail strategy for clousre. Yet according to this document one is due to be announced in October. How many mail centres are on the list ? We know that a leaked document two years ago sugguested that Royal Mail ulitmate goal was to have only 31 mail centres ( we currently have 60 ).

On Network it talks about Network 2010 when we still have not resolved Network 2009.

On Pay it talks about simplified pay but does not talks about whether this will involve some staff being winners and others losers as per the way forward. It talks about allocating pay for change once delivered locally. It also talks about monthly pay.

On MTSF they want to reduce VR terms and allocate that money to encourage more people to buy down hours as it will help their strategy of removing full time jobs. However by reducing vr terms their is a real risk of complusory redundancies being introduced given the amount of jobs which are being proposed by Royal Mail.

On the relationship with the union it is quite clear they want to reduce the unions role in the work place. In their words they see a new relationship with our people which basically is that change will be introduced without the union being invovled through teamworking. Plus the attack on facilities is something which will harm the union immensly as the legal minimum is discpline interviews and redundancies etc. It is not organinsing the members , holding meetings and fighting against their plans. Plus it also means that check off the method members pay their union subs will also be threatened by Royal Mail.

On top of all this they want to only want to consult the union in the future and not negoiatie.

So if anyone was in any doubt about why we needed to strike to defend our futures then surely you cant have now. Remember only this union and all of us can stop this strategy and we must contiue the fight. This is not going to be a short dispute we have seen in London if we are going to win this we must be prepared to dig deep and force them to agree a fair deal which protects all of our futures.

However whilst this battle will be tough i remain convinced we can and will win as we want it more then this corrupt government and the serial industrial wreckers such as Crozier and Higson.

Could this "document" be a plant to get the union to agree to slightly less extreme agreement.

Could it be an attempt at a worst case scenario dupe in order to get the union to negotiate a deal that RM have already penned?

Look at it this way. Were all panicking, saying how extreme this document is. If a less extreme version were put to the union, would we be more inclined to accept given the abhorence of this worst case scenario?

I dont trust RM and this 'leak' seems a bit fishy.

yeah - the oldest trick in the book is start with a pay freeze and gradually work it up a couple of percent - - it's funny how Hellmail are talking about the other one - Next Steps
