If the code at the top of the paper is not for tracking, why does it appear above my name and address on the envelope?

As a check I guess - not sure but they don't get your envelope back. I do know its against the law for anyone except the scrutineers to know how you voted as it is a secret vote. It may just be an aid to track the % of returns etc, The important thing is if you are worried about the Union tracking your vote, you would need to ask yourself how they would benefit from knowing it and whether finding out is worth the risk of very expensive legal action.

However, hopefully someone will be able to give a definitive answer as too what the numbers are because mine suggestion was a pure guess.

No they cannot dismiss you for taking part in the vote - only in the strike itself and then there are legal protections up to 12 weeks for official action, and in some cases, too long and complicated to go into on here, beyond the 12 weeks.

Very well said :Applause This is the message that needs to get out to the public. It may not change any minds but at least it'll be a truer reflection of whats happening.

I never noticed anything else just couldn't wait to tick the yes box. I also don't care if they know I voted yes as I would tell them to their faeces. Sorry mispelled that it's just that they spout so much shi*e you don't know if they're talking from their mouth or their arse. :chuckle

I think it's your branch serial num.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

for anyone who has any doubt.......VOTE YES . FILL OUT THAT BALLOT PAPER NOW !!

A No vote =
No pay rise as you are according to RM 25% overpaid.
No job security - RM want a more "hire and fire" culture ie compulsory sackings.
No influence whatsoever over change in the workplace.
No influence over the continual abuse of flexibility and unagreed workrates to make you work harder for nothing.
No shorter working week.
No chance for PT staff to move to FT.
No chance to stop the bullying culture now endemic in many workplaces.
No bonus for savings made - RM only want managers to have bonuses now.
No Union to negotiate on your behalf.
No fair standards applied in all offices.
No pension security.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you.
