It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I dont believe that you are all lying although some of it is hard to believe but this does not mean that it not the truth.

It's a nightmare out there big boy, there's even some on here from your part of the world.
I can relate to a lot of stuff posted on here, been there done it and got the t-shirt unfortunately.

Moving on from my post on my 2 managers, one was promoted! And what's ironic is the other one the lino, had to get your union involved after he moved as his new DOM was a right bastard to him, that was funny when we heard that.

Moving on from that, the said new DOM had a RM rap sheet as long as your arm and was found guilty of all sorts including bullying, racism, and sexual harrasment,he of cource was promoted to a mon to fri cushy job.

I could go on and on,but you get the idea.

Only problem i have for D2D's is when are Royal Mail gonna get a grip and improve the payments on these fcukin things.. really 1.67pence :left: best rounding that figure up and off to a nice Round figure, surely with inflation every year they're long overdue an increase :Applause and in what year was that 1.67pence introduced??
Who is KyzaSoze? But to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for Soze. You never knew, that was his power. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, he's gone.

There should be procedures in place. There has been a big push on the quality of service of door to door recently.

Door 2 Door items put out on the Saturday with the control sheets.

Control sheet signed daily to confirm delivery of 20%.

On the Friday, excess items counted by delivery postman and control sheet handed in to PHG or manager (whoever deals with it )

Control sheets that are not handed in are chased by manager.

All door 2 door items are accounted for.
D2D's put out on a Saturday? Yeah right :chuckle It's usually Monday but last week they came in Tuesday and were put out on Wednesday. Some refused to take them, others that had Wed/Thur or Fri off took them in the only 2 days they had.

It's probably supposed to work as you describe, but here in the real world things get done when people have the time (or can be bothered), and that applies to both Managers and Posties.

Our D2D stuff is put out on a friday by cage staff ready for the following week,D2D stuff from the week previous that have been left are under the frame and the managers more often than not dont know about them in fact one walk in my isle has 3 weeks under it and the managers just dont know or if they do dont care.
RM get payed for this work and we then get paid a small proportion of it for the delivery of the item, the managers should do a frame check every day but they are to busy putting the kettle on in our office,i am sure if you got in touch with post com or the company who is using the service some thing would be bound to happen.

Ours get put out on a Sat, most of us then work them ready for Monday, we deliver them with the mail, so by Thurs most frames are free of them. Seems to work well.

Part of my duty I throw in gets taken as Flex some weeks................so I have 3 weeks, this is the 4th week now of D2Ds not been delivered.

How can RM promote such a wonderful product when at grass roots the managers aren't managing this product correctly.

Our DIM has threated to put a UV marker pen on our D2Ds left under a frame................I just love the trust.

I fancy writing something in a UV pen all over my frame!!!! And it won't be praising my DIM :Very Happy

Sounds like it is running smoothly, just like most offices nowadays!

While I agree that some managers may not be ensuring that D2D's are being completed, lets not forget that we have a duty to deliver them. We accepted that and we get paid for it (not very well). Some people seem to brag about getting away with not delivering all of them, some do it in a sly way, but most of us deliver every single one of them, week in and week out. We are the ones that are affected by the 'wide boys' when management bring in their usual OTT measures to stop the few.

DOM wrote:Why would you want to report this to someone outside RM?

If you were on leave, then you've done nothing wrong. If someone has claimed for delivering the items, then they have committed fraud.
I want the customer to know that RM is not fulfilling the contract by not delivering them, its not about the staff its aimed at the management/RM, the customer needs to know that their goods are not being delivered cos of piss poor management
CUT OFF!!!
