With all the money we all pay in subs each week surely it would be so easy to take out a full page spead in the national press to put forward our case ?

Reality check sir, as someone once reminded me when I was a postman:-General Mannerheim wrote:Lets face it the general public are well....morons.
"Remember, you are just one up from binman."
And without trying to sound insulting, the person who said that to me was infact right.
All this union bullsh1t gives you fellas a very warped view on reality, you are not revolutionary freedom fighters, you are just unskilled scruffy men doing a job that anyone can do.
Think it through before you start throwing harsh words around chap.

Re: CWU v RM v THE PUBLIC
Yes and we are all human. Who are these people that think they are any better than a bin person. I'm nothing special but there is no one better than me and I am no better than them. But there is one difference, we are in a position of trust. And I know there are the minority that are not trustworthy. Just because some muppet makes a comment like that doesn't mean I'm not gonna fight for our rights.Locker Dave wrote:Reality check sir, as someone once reminded me when I was a postman:-General Mannerheim wrote:Lets face it the general public are well....morons.

I agree maybe his choice of words was harsh, but did you read the rest of his post about the media, it's true.Locker Dave wrote:Reality check sir, as someone once reminded me when I was a postman:-General Mannerheim wrote:Lets face it the general public are well....morons.

and Scruffy?? I have a wash and shave once a month, whether I need it or not big boy, so there.
ps. How long were you a postman for, and when? It's a hard job, I have done others outside RM, and tbh I don't plan on staying here, but why should the service decline for the public, just so the fat cats can make a profit?? They aren't even a good example of free market capitalism, you've got to admit that, they aren't entrepreneurs or true innovators, they have just lept on a national service trying to make a quick buck.

Well this freedom fighter is prepared to listen to union bullshit so the below does not happen regularly to my fellow freedom fighting bullshit listening colleagues.Locker Dave wrote:Reality check sir, as someone once reminded me when I was a postman:-General Mannerheim wrote:Lets face it the general public are well....morons.

PS:Wonder if binmen leave their jobs for the same reason you did.YOU wrote: I was a postman OPG for 5 years, didn't like the way that the managers bullied old men and so quit before I become one of their 'vunerable' victims.
Leaving RM was through my choice and I went back to the classroom and 5 years later doubled my wages and don't have to tolerate the cr>p hours/cr;p management that I used to have to endure 6 days a week.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Oh and did you bother to read the rest of my post before getting your knickers in a twist?Locker Dave wrote:Reality check sir, as someone once reminded me when I was a postman:-General Mannerheim wrote:Lets face it the general public are well....morons.

Was the remark of your just one up from a binman off a member of the public perchance?Oh yes it was
Would this be the same general public that has an opinion on Binmen,Posties and manual workers as all scruffy twats and that anybody can do the job...your words not mine...as I pointed out in my post just because a job looks easy doesn`t mean that anybody can do it,it may look easy being a binman or postie or cleaning up dog s**t from the park doesn`t mean that some stuck up arsehole with a chip on his shoulder can do it or should have the right to belittle somebody actually doing the job...afterall we can`t all be ex locker arsewipes with their air of a superiority complex now can we.
P.S I`m not unskilled thank you very much so better luck next time on your fishing trip.

Re: CWU v RM v THE PUBLIC
You`ll hear comments like "we get the post later and later to the lazy postmen and now they want to strike" - thats how uninformed the public at large are when its RM that is 100% to blame for later deliveries.
Very true. I totally agree with the opening post. The public think we are after more money again and keep complaining when im delivering their post later and later. They think its OUR fault and we must be lazy and 'on a go-slow'. This really gets me mad.
