Personally, I think we'd be better concentrating on the possibility of using Employment Law, and signed agreements. Rather than anything they've said in the past. I've yet to see any evidence that they can be trusted to keep their word, so any assurances they give/have given are frankly irrelevant to me. What we need is binding agreements, signed by both parties.

Perhaps this will be useful (taken from the MTSF agreement):
6. Consideration will also be given to a number of activities that will facilitate
the management of surplus. These wil include
voluntary conversion from
full to part time working,
adjustments to levels of overtime and scheduled
attendance, reversion of temporary promotees, preferencing and bumping,
voluntary redundancy and voluntary regrading

There's no mention there, of compulsary reduction in hours. Only VOLUNTARY reductions. Hopefully there will be other things we can use. But it's the best I can come up with.

The simple answer is you must all cut off! and do it now!

The union are onto it,but!as always we have been told that we should not hold out for to much, the DIM has admitted they dont have a thing in place to do this, makes me wonder WHY should they have some body in a job like that pulling stunts like this, making statements like that, prehapes we should all start implamenting any ideas we fancy without even looking at the bigger picture, makes me so :evil/mad i will keep you up with what happens just so that if any of you find yourselves in the same position you can use us as a source of info, thanks to you all,its nice to have others around the country to learn from :Applause :Applause :Applause
