Well it must be just us here in N Ireland. As far as I'm aware the union do not recognise this so why the feck is it here....another tool to intimidate and bully with!!! Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the union only recognise the one minute prep test. The target for this being 25 letters in a minute. I was tested for the whole of my prep and tie up a few months ago, and the manager who tested me, unofficially did the one minute test on me, during my prep test. I say unofficially because the DOM and line manager flatly refuse to do these one minute tests!
I'll say this....there is no way you could continually prep at 25 letters a minute. However I have heard they are designing a new Robo-postman which will be phased in by 2010. This will eliminate the need to pay for any breaks (food, toilet, or smoke ones), whilst maintaining any speed the management wish, so as to achieve all targets set by the hierarchy.
