People at my office moan that they are knackered before they go out.
But do any of them take a break, have something to eat before they go out. No. They just rush about from when they get in til when they finish.
People think I'm some kind of rebel because I sit at my frame, have something to eat, go to the bank etc before I go out. I've even been called lazy by the runners.
At my office people are still trying to make time - not prepared to work their full hours.
We had so much moaning on Tuesday because we were waiting for the missort run. Most people were bagged up by 8.45, pacing about harrassing the managers - whens the missort run.
I just had my 40 minute break.
It was hideously light as well so everyone should and I think, did, complete on time.
Job and finish has a lot to answer for.

Agree with the general feeling. No one should be made work more than their contract. I'm in the position of being on a 20 hour contract and still doing the 40 hour plus weeks.
I don't mind that I need the money! Feel sorry for the people who only want the 20 hours work. I thought that was what RM wanted too, however I now believe RM want everyone on 20 hours but working 40! Think about it Overtime's only paid once a Part Timer has done 40 hours (and then it's at a crap rate), RM Pension Contributions are halved (saving them a fortune), when you're Sick or on Holiday you only get 20 hours pay
Bonus for RM is that when they finally get their act together and get organised with walk sequencing computers, pegasus etc they can cut your hours without any problems. In the years until then we all work like donkeys!
I agree the Union should get it's finger out of it's backside and start helping the people who pay their wages. I'm trying to get a Full time contract (I've been doing 40 hours plus for over 12 mths now) and I'm getting nowhere fast
Anyone out there had any luck in this department? All the Union said was, "It seems RM are determined to continue with their Part Time contracts stategy!" No s**t Sherlock I can see why. There is a possibility that if your office duty plan states that there are more Full Time duties than there are Full Time Staff you're in with a chance. However every time the DOM tries to change duties and puts a list up of proposed duties (plus changes) the Union goes into dispute over it and we're back to square one!
Whinge over I don't get a chance to get my soap box very often and lets face most people you work with just seem to be looking after No1 Royal mail's motto should be, "I'm alright F**k you Jack"
