It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

i once ordered the veggie spag bol from the canteen at plymouth mdec. After taking a mouthfull i found it wasnt veggie mince but beef (yes they do taste different). I'm not a veggie so it wasnt a major problem for me (although it did taste rank), but a mate of mine has an alergic reaction if he eats meat - he had to go home ill. nothing got done about this, quadrant claimed it was veggie mince and that it couldnt have been meat coz they had none in. I broke a tooth after eating a bagett from the canteen! Damm painful it was too.
Anyway, I rarley use the canteen now as I think the price they charge for some things is absoulutly crazy.
For instance, my mate always has two tea bags in his tea as he likes it very strong.
The other night the canteen lady said he would have to pay for two cups of tea if he was having two teabags. And she charged him 70p for one cup of tea!!!!!
So, he went out yesterday and brought a bag of teabags for 69p and now brings them to work. :dance
Much cheaper.

We used to be subsidised (sp) but now prices have gone through the roof and keep rising.

Even if someone who is on friendly terms with the chef maybe could inquire as to my previous post. It doesn't just have to be HWDC but can be any quadrant canteen. This will be great help and I will be very thankful.

I miss our canteen. It was a popular part of the office but the managers altered the hours it was open so they didn't match with our time off the IPS. They obviously had an agenda to have it shut and even stopped using it themselves preferring instead to walk quarter of a mile to a local cafe.
I staged a Roger Moore impersonator festival in my local village. There were a lot of eyebrows raised, I can tell you.
