Re: Just appeared on Robin
I don’t even think the CWU would think they have a remote chance of selling industrial action to its members.

Did the CWU ever publish, in detail, what their counter ODM was?

Re: Just appeared on Robin
I think if a yes vote for strike action did manage to limp across the line there would be a lot of members who would cross the picket line,I for one would im not losing anymore money for that lot.chickenwittle wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026, 16:30I don’t even think the CWU would think they have a remote chance of selling industrial action to its members.

Re: Just appeared on Robin
ah, that's it. I remember now. I forgot it quickly because of how embarrassing it was. Remember, that this wasn't being proposed to 'fix' duties going forward that were too big currently. It was based on 2 normal duties that were currently able to complete every day. Some offices have a problem with staffing numbers (ours does most of the time). Some have issues with duties being undeliverable in the hours given to do it. Some have both issues.yellowbelly wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026, 17:23In detail: 'Longs and shorts as a van pairing' - that was pretty much it. Two walks, one day you take everything on one walk and just priority on the other, next day swap it round.
If duties in our office, when fully staffed, only did packets etc on one side and everything on the other, they'd be finished 90 minutes early each day.

Re: Just appeared on Robin
Aaah right, I did wonder where the proposed saving was coming from otherwise what would be the point of two people still doing two rounds.SMS1969 wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026, 17:41And lapsing from a lapsed walk too.yellowbelly wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026, 17:23In detail: 'Longs and shorts as a van pairing' - that was pretty much it. Re: Just appeared on Robin
Exactly, but unfortunately it looks like the failed 3 doing 4 model will probably get pushed through by executive action.Work to time then go home is what I’ll do if they do, w@nkers.yellowbelly wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026, 17:48Aaah right, I did wonder where the proposed saving was coming from otherwise what would be the point of two people still doing two rounds.SMS1969 wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026, 17:41And lapsing from a lapsed walk too.yellowbelly wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026, 17:23In detail: 'Longs and shorts as a van pairing' - that was pretty much it. Longs and shorts is a different thing - thats to do with longer and shorter attendance i.e shorter day Tuesday longer day Thursday which has been a RM thing in many offices for years
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Re: Just appeared on Robin
I think the talk of industrial action is a bit premature, if no agreement can be found then the worst Royal Mail will do is bring in odm by executive action.Although not ideal , none of us will be losing money and the job has been a mess for 3 years now so no big change there.I certainly wouldn’t be voting to strike under those circumstances, especially given the outcome of the last strike.
