prep rates

I responded by saying excuse me but do you think it is just and fair that on my frame (rural delivery) where I have nearly 800 delivery points and two extra wings and other rural deliveries that have 500+ (no extra wings) as I see it I am having to go top to bottom left to right and every angle whichever way you perceive naturally it will take me that split second longer to find my intended delivery spot.

800 delivery points ???? Must be one hell of a village? In our DO average is 250 for rurals and about 500 for urban. I must

No way can it be done in 3.5 hours takes me on average about 1.5 - 2hrs to inward prep and band up. Then most days out on delivery abt 6 hours or more. And I get abt 160+ del points delivered by someone else. Packets and parcels are through the roof or have dramatically increased along with bloody recorded items requiring signatures.

How long should someone be given to learn their RM2000 frame if starting from scratch to get to the required standard?

im such a cut off merchant since i got a wonderful letter from andy2007 that tommorrow they have promised to prep test me

full prep test,which our stand in dom says is where he counts the letters before i put them in my rm200 and he recons the rate is 8 per minute ish over the entire prep?i wanna know the correct rate and means of this full test.

i really dont mind doing it seeing as he has promised to time our rounds next week

but wots the right way.clearly not a one minute test.

8 is ultra easy peasy to get assuming your on a delivery frame you prep ona regular basis!!!!

The full means of the test is from the very first letter to enter the RM 200 frame through to all pouches being packed, RLE visted redirections done and return to sender letters endorsed.

Basically the 1 min test is 25 items a minute but once you bring into play pouches bring packed, fatigue etc etc the rate drops but RM and CWU do not have a aggrement on what the rate should drop to, hence the variations around the country.

Last time I was prepped tested i didnt reach 11 but got the DOM to work out how much time I needed to knock off my prep to meet the 11 figure and he did his maths and the answer was a measley 10 minutes.

as you said big from first letter till bagged up.what irated me was that i kept running out of mail and i had to find him to count some more or if none to stop the bloody clock.he said he stopped the clock but even thirty seconds finding him is 15 letter i could have prepped.
he said as i keep running out it shows we can all start later.8am instead of 7.15.

i was so happy to finally start the ball rolling on getting these rounds sorted that i didnt bother cutting off.
i was last in first out again,so ill pee myself if he says im too slow

i got back after 4.5 hour delivery on my bike(fooking cold today wasnt it)
pouched off sorted my lates parcels to delivery and he drives back into the car park.say that he doesnt want me to do the parcels instead he wants me to deliver all the cut off from another round instead.
i mention that im part time ,i dont get sa rate ever.and ive already exceeded the 3.5 hour delivery span and i wont do any more.

he got most irate he tried shouting.i shouted louder.he sasked what time i got back.i said 10 minutes ago.he said have your forty minute break and then that restarts the 3.5 hour delivery..again ,no,no,no.
he told me hes been a manger for 7 years all over the place and knows best.
i said ive been here only a year but i wasnt born yesterday,show me in writing and ill do it.
he said he cant show me today hell show me tommorrow

your thoughts on this would be good.if im scheduled attendance do i have to do delivery if he wants?

If you have time left within your schedule normal hours or scheduled attendance hours then as long as your fully trained for the alternative work then the manager can ask you to do alternative work.

He can not make you work beyond your contracted hours.

3.5 hours is for the day isnt it.not 3.5 hours have a break then go out again for 3.5 hours

point is i finish my duty with overtime.4.5 hour delivery.
i was only their because i was about to start lates straight away.
i got back from delivery at 13.50 start lates officailly at 1420
instead of doing parcels he wanted me to go out and deliver somone elses cut off.claiming if i have a break first that restarts the 3.5 hour delivery

As far as national aggrement goes it says deliveries will be planned on the basis of 3 .5 hours and thats really all it says, I would say that if you being asked to do standard delivery work rather than parcel delivery then so long as your trained then its difficult to grumble. If your voluntary doing overtime to complete your delivery and you want a decent rest period before starting your Lates S.A then cut off. In my D.O we put new estates out on overtime to start with so we have people voluntary doing more than 3.5 hours a day but not in one go.

One thing that I personally think isnt 100% clear is what happens if you cant do delivery within 3.5 hours but you have enough overall time to your finish time to complete delivery? On the odd ocassion its fine but if its regular them the delivery needs making smaller and some indoor work found.
