If you can't complete 4 in 10, then you won't complete 7 in 10.
Everyone can see this, why can't they?
Because you know that guy in your office who seems really friendly, but deflects attention from himself by snitching on others and smiling to their face, he’s got a ridiculously short walk that looks big on the frame but it’s so short he can complete also do his d2ds and do ghost overtime and still arrive back at the office before finish time?
They’re basing what they believe is achievable on that guy.
’You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’
Whatever changes they make it's not going back to achievable duties. They want zero time at the end of duties to be wasted. Even if that means less efficiency and pissed off post persons. Because the more of the old guard they can get rid of the more new staff they can get and pay them less. And once there's more new than old they'll attempt to force all the old contracts pay down.
New staff aren’t staying long or they can’t get anyone to join this shitshow
They live in cookoo land... everyone is leaving now.. no wants to work for royal mail.... and they want to remove 7000 to 9000 routes on top of this...

I know when you read through all this s**t plenty of parts just really don't make sense, how does making duties shorter equate to having less duties ?

There's another example that I reckon they'll base it on, we've got a few of them, super runners, they start at least 45 mins early, slam their sequence in then start on ips despite it not being part of their duty as they're all double preppers on van share, don't speak a word to anyone until their PT partner comes in equally early then race round their duties like Mo Farah on steroids, no break and back early every day including December.
I don't believe one bit of what senior management and the union are claiming—that RM is losing money. Yes, the profits are at a loss, mainly because they are spending hundreds of millions on high-tech automation and distribution centres, which replace jobs. The one thing automation can't replace is delivery, and that's where this so-called innovation of delivering letters every other day comes in.Anyone who has done a walking delivery will know that having two days of mail, D2Ds, small packets, etc. is no fun. This way of delivery is designed to squeeze every working second out of your contracted hours and beyond.
so they telling the staff that the deliverys will be smaller ? but you will go to more houses , and they would get rid of up to 9000 deliverys , how the f**k does that work ? , surely your deliverys would be bigger than they are now , which we cant deliver now ,so am i on a different planet to them .

I assuming that means 9,000 less deliveries per day i.e. the deliveries where "Evie"just delivers 1c mail on each alternative days? Although it we're losing 9,000 deliveries how can we only be losing 1,000 jobs, I'm surprised the CWU haven't said anything on this point, as if 10,000(?) more are lost to natural attrition that's still potential CWU members disappearing.
Any idea how many deliveries RM makes each day compared to the 9,000 it claims it will potentially save daily??
As usual we all get upset because they want to change delivery method, i haven't given it a second thought, RM employ us for a certain amount of hrs split over so many days in a given week, if they want to squeeze every last value out of that time it's up to them they are paying for it. But there is a pay off, and we all should do it, don't work a second more than they are entitled to get. This company runs on o/t and if you choose to do it that's your choice, but don't complain about what they are doing and then endorse it by working over to aid them.
I am sure whoever dreamed up this method of delivery believes it to be a fantastic idea, but with no actual post person getting any input i fancy it's all pie in the sky. They arrogantly believe we mere grunts know nothing and should just do as we are told and get on with it.
Well feck you, i for one will just work to my time and then wander off home and wait for it all to come tumbling down.
On the other hand maybe it will work.

In the network review document the list of affected duties is just shy of 57,000, which I would assume to be basically every one nationally. It would be absurd to assume those are going out every day for the last four years. The reported figures for regional performance place my office slightly above average; so I would be comfortable extrapolating 15-20% of duties rolling over daily nationally as-is, which would mean roughly 10,000 have already been eliminated unofficially.

A few months ago one of the batches on my CSS machine suddenly had half the number of walks, with no sign of the removed walks being moved to other batches

That’s curious.

The job is now all about profit, not service.
And "out of home delivery" (i.e. parcel lockers) will kill what's left of delivery. The Kretinsky bid** offers an immediate £400 million cash injection going 100% to more lockers.
** Will this even go ahead considering an approx £1.4 Billion lawsuit against RM by Whistl and overcharged business customer groups?
Well done CWU we haven't had a universal service in our office for about 5 years,no such thing, its all an illusion, i just done packets today with 3 election leaflets still in the frame and the boss telling us it all has to be delivered by Wednesday ,our office is like the Fawltey Towers of the Royal Mail
