It doesn't work in MCs as the shift end times are also the dispatch times.

Coming in early never results in getting the mail out. In all honesty, I would be prepared to come in and flex 30 minutes earlier if it meant I could leave the office 30 minutes earlier. Hope this helps their survey.

Wonder why they bring people in early on pay to do IPS and prep duties then? I'm sure it's something to do with getting posties out earlier

An absolute unworkable project,my walk is 1 hour 45 mins too long ,my round has at least 10 collections (at the moment and rising) at least 8 special deliveries a day ,a trolley full of parcels where at least a third are having to be redelivered and a round spread out over a long distance ,the 30 minute flexibility has discrimination written all over it,while a 21 year old could possibly(on his easier round) run around and still finish on time the over 50's are left struggling beaten and tired and now we dont even have seniority as we were kicked off our rounds in the last revisions now back on steppy ones we started on 30 years ago,the union are a disgrace and nothing would surprise me if they agreed to this shocking injustice,the last time they let the managers loose on this bulling and harassment went through the roof i cant believe they are going to let them loose again because we all know the union will be incapable of stopping it. Last year we never had any operational issues apart from being short staffed everyday so does that mean they can use it everyday,Martin Walsh ,Dave Ward you pair are an absolute JOKE !!!!!

Unless a lorry breaks down or there's no driver available the lorries all go out at the dispatch time. Any mail not ready to go on the lorry by that time is failed. The artics have to be unloaded/loaded and gone by a certain time or they then have to wait until the dispatch is done before they can unload as all the bays will be in use.

Don't understand why people come in early in free as its not like they can leave over an hour early anymore
Royal Mail rarely seem to increase people's contracts and its evident with the number of part-timers in our office who are regularly working full-time but never get their hours made up. Some of them have taken the CWU's advice not to work any overtime until RM increase their hours and so they end up only working their part-time hours but others have long given up on the Union in our office.
Also, if the indoor hours are there you would have thought that the company would look at a way of reducing their duty spans for those who regularly do IPS on overtime?? However, I walked in today and those who were called in early had already got their mech and most of their parcels in before I've even started. Make of that what you will but I suppose you could call it organised chaos!
