Even the latest ‘revision’ appears to have been kicked into the long grass due to the fact that the office is failing even before they remove any more duties. I genuinely don’t know how this is gonna go now

I suspect that it's only until the COM gets ordered by their boss to implement it

He was told to implement it weeks ago. We even know what walks they want out - still nothing has happened. I fully expect RM to go nuclear on our office at some stage if the dispute isn’t sorted,I just presumed it would have happened by now

You realise there is no obligation on employers to give a pay rise being discretionary?
Look at the public sector workers as an example.

People go on about the millions paid to shareholders, but that is what a privatised industry does, compensates with dividends. Not ethical, but legal. Despite all the bravado, Simon Thompson and the board have done nothing wrong with the company's finances besides not putting in reserves for when the Covid pandemic ended instead of relying on paper assets such as property as security.

I’m now of this thinking too. If this business can’t pay us reasonable(ish) wages and not expect us to flog ourselves to death day in day out then it’s probably best it just burns to the ground and disappears.

Its bad when the workers are now asking for the company to be put out of its misery as its run its course, i can't find a argument against anything you say as its becoming clear that the company either won't or can't fulfil its USO obligations and certainly unless something drastic comes out in the talks it never will. Not sure what the solution is but there's folk get paid a lot more than me to sort it out. I can't see any of their buzzwords like dynamic and innovative changes being ever able to solve the conundrum of how to deliver mail and parcels at the same time while still making money, the only solutions that they have are "Blame the posties" and "Lazy and overpaid" none of which are factual, if anyone has been dynamic and innovative it's been us who managed to deliver for 2yrs over a pandemic with the avalanche of parcels the likes of which had never been seen before without much assistance from the Slyman and Company, apart from the standard "Well done Team". If the idiots at the top would leave us alone and just let us do what we do best they would still be lining their pockets. Let's see what the offer is before we lock the doors behind us just in case they prove us all wrong. But i doubt it!!

What I would say is if this job is making people as miserable as they are saying, they should look for other employment. Mental health is so much more important than being miserable and stressed at work.

Only crunch we'll be hearing is the Crunchy Nut these guys will be munching on during these talks. It's sink or swim time, either we get a deal with these guys or the company and those still on this ship crash into the iceberg, causing more casualties. Ultimately, both sides have lost there was no "win the dispute". Job is well and truly f****d, union is basically just trying to salvage what is left of the wreckage, and honestly, there's not much left of it.

I gotta agree with you on that. I mean people make the argument of "I don't want them to force me out of a job", but think it would be more better for their own sanity and well being for them to walk away at this point. Understood at the start of the dispute since company was in a somewhat staple state. Now, not so much if we are to believe both union and RM. So any outcome that comes out of these talks, isn't going to be great for us I reckon. Least you left with the satisfaction that you no longer have to suffer under absolute wastes of space management that have no f***ing clue what they are doing, and future at least looks a lot happier. Staying here is pretty much like staying with an abusive spouse till one of you ends up dead, might feel good for a split second, but more than likely feel bitter and hollow long term.
