if striking over Christmas hasn’t worked then whats the point now? rm will just say that it’s damaging the business and we will be out of pocket with more strike days.i know thompson wants us all to leave anyway.seems like whatever way we turn we’re hitting a wall

But are the board incompetent or just sinister? i fail to see how you can drag a company down this much by accident

There are only two options and there were only ever two options:
Agree to a bad deal and for many, look for a job elsewhere OR make sure the company burns into the ground and look for a job elsewhere...

One of my workmates told me last night the management have informed the union the company is only four months away from bankruptcy . Has anybody else heard this ? Personally , I wouldn't believe anything management said anymore .norm wrote: ↑18 Mar 2023, 13:40You forget the more important influence behind the scenes that is David Kretinsky the major shareholder of RM. He must have some bearing over what Thompson and Williams are doing.
Let's not forget the government gave him the green light to buy out the company as well if he wanted. He is obviously just biding his time at this point, until either the CWU are beaten into submission/irrelevance or RM go broke and he can split off GLS and make a killing on that.

£567 MILLION would have gone along way but they gave it away for their own bonuses!walthmstowman wrote: ↑18 Mar 2023, 19:24One of my workmates told me last night the management have informed the union the company is only four months away from bankruptcy . Look at the profits since being privatised, staggering. The amount given to bosses and shareholders, staggering. Every senior manager/CEO has caused problems for us, Crozier, Back, Greene, Leighton etc etc.The management of this great company MUST be looked at , but IF the company isn't renationalised, then (with shareholders) we have NO chance for a future. The pigs overfeed until they are slaughtered

Re: The Future of the Business with Thompson & Williams?
The big question must be why T & W are trying to run the business to the ground, do they feel it's the correct route to take or is DK putting pressure on them to drive down the share price, so he can then buy the shares on the cheap? Before the pay rise issue blew up ST was all for building "trust" now all the trust has been destroyed.
