It's hardly surprising the share price tanks when the CEO publicly admitted that the business cannot afford uniform for its staff or to complete an order for electric vans.

I'm surprised he hasn't been hauled in front of the financial conduct authority for deliberately pushing the share price lower.

I'm not sure if he's ever been in charge of a publicly listed company but his behaviour is bizarre and erratic and his own board needs to reign him in.

Well you just have to look what a bad job he did of track and trace in covid. Numpty.

Another problem that he has risen to us and the share holders is supposedly theres not enough money in the pot for a pay increase (mean while the price of stamps have risen), no more electric vans, and worst of all no cash for uniform.

If theres not enough money for uniform, then there must be no money to be made and in return the stock price will drop to zero. But then why has Simon accumulated more shares? Things really don't add up on the board.

I don't believe any of it my wage is often covered just by the revenue from the special delivery's I do each day the rest is pure profit.i had 2 large heavy specials the other day 40 odd quid each they cost to send so that's my wage covered with 2 items.

Probably 10 to 20 other postmen/women handle the said item but alas one person in an ivory tower does jack s**t and gets the most what a cut that must be?

This was Simon's brief downgrade make share prices tank ready for foreign investors to buy on the cheap and he gets a massive payout,we all know how it works and is happening right under the Tory party's noses because they are all in it together the wealthy getting wealthier.

Absolutely. Calm before a very big storm. Christmas and the winter will be total carnage. Businesses will close in droves, and our postal business will be suffering with the rest.

They knew last years' profits were exceptional and that this year's profit would naturally be far less. Despite that they gave it all away to shareholders and themselves in a typical Royal Mail narrow minded short term move.

The current bosses are s*ite and simply aren't capable of seeing this business through the coming storm, they have to go.

If you cannot make a success of a company that has a monopoly on letters, huge infrastructure, massive experience levels in the postal workforce, respect from the public and one of the most well known brands in the world then you're a s**t leader and it's time to go. Obviously the pandemic switched people's shopping and profits increased but there was always going to be a downturn afterwards so you don't go giving so much to shareholders. It almost so bad, it's a deliberate devaluation ready for a sale. Bit like the Tories are doing to the NHS.

Not quite as simple as that is it. How do you think that special has got to you? That's not free, same for your van if in a van share, the diesel, electricity to light the building, your fellow workers who didn't have £80 worth of specials, your fellow workers who are off sick and not actually doing anything for their pay. As you can see much more to it than your simplistic view.
