Re: Next Strike Dates
I don't see any talks happening. It's been mentioned Royal Mail are in discussion with that dude about a takeover. Surely there will be no talks with the Union until they have decided to go ahead with the takeover or not.

It's undeniable that at the end of these 4 days of action many members will have sacrificed over £300 in income, whereas others will have done OT/swap deals/had the luck of losing far less or indeed nothing.
In my view, if no movement after these 4 days then the strike dates for the T's and C's need to be 3-4 consecutive days.
£300 quid for 4 days!!

Re: Next Strike Dates
correct. Minimum £75 for each strike day depending on what day of the week it is for many staff.ViperF wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 22:33Cucumber wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 19:36I don't think there is any harm in looking for where the future strikes are going.

Re: Next Strike Dates
Doesn’t seem like Royal Mail are that bothered by the strikes. In the past they would have been talking by now.Does make you wonder where all this is going to lead to. Years ago you wouldn’t have got agency staff clearing up the backlog so quick. Also when it was government owned there was more of a obligation to get the queens Mail delivered. In the 90s if you left a letter in your frame you were in trouble !!!

Re: Next Strike Dates
The reality is that the legal requirement to give at least 14 days notice means if the 2-day strike doesn’t bring RM back into meaningful talks, the CWU has to put new strike dates in place for week commencing 12th September NOWfallenworld2022 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 19:11enough negative talk about next strike dates, we have still got this week and next week to get through, a lot of people would rather both parties got round the table and got a deal struck, its not a bloody game we are in, its peoples lifes affected by this u know

Re: Next Strike Dates
Why would any Postie help clear any backlog. Goes against us striking. The company needs to suffer.
Aren't we getting a back payment soon due to this 2% pay rise we have got?

Re: Next Strike Dates
Yeah, put in those terms it really highlights why we can't afford not to strike.ViperF wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 22:33Cucumber wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 19:36I don't think there is any harm in looking for where the future strikes are going.

£300 for four days....the amount of work we already do...and they want us to walk quicker to do more for a real terms pay cut whilst slashing our t&cs?
No brainer. On the Gate.

Go for the fri sat / sun mon
And you could easily have different functions out on alternate days as we’re already letting lorries through picket lines due to differing start times all we are doing with 1 day stoppage is saving RM a days wages nationally

Re: Next Strike Dates
Rumour is Royal Mail are trying to break away from the legally binding agreement they signed back in 2013.roman wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 22:50Doesn’t seem like Royal Mail are that bothered by the strikes. In the past they would have been talking by now.Does make you wonder where all this is going to lead to. AGENDA FOR
GROWTH, INDUSTRIAL STABILITY, PAY AND PROTECTIONS https://www.royalmailwholesale.com/mint ... 013638.pdf
One of the break away clauses in the agreement is if industrial action is taken.
In my view Royal Mail want the strike it's part of a bigger strategy.Royal Mail also has the right to earlier termination of the protections in exceptional
circumstances, such as a threat to the financial sustainability of the business. Under certain
circumstances, including the breakdown of industrial stability, both parties have the right to
earlier termination of the legally-binding undertakings

Would be better if we all just walked out permanently. Leave the company. Let's all look for other jobs and aim to be out of the company by Xmas.

I read an article about kieth Williams and it said he was an 'industrial action expert' he watched over the british airways IA and apparently shafted the cabin crew.
