In the approver section it is showing me someone I have never heard of. It is not one of my line managers, so would it be HR?
Just trying to request a day off, slow as f*ck, but does show my lino, so at least something is working.....

edit: Seemed to have worked. On the day I requested, there is a golden line at the bottom of the date which denotes it's been sent.

I managed to request a couple of days off in August, highly doubt it will be approved but we can hope.

Whats wrong with the old system ?
We have a list and the PHG comes round with a book and you sign for your 2 weeks by seniority
Then it goes around again and you book your 2nd 2 weeks etc.
You sign for it and you know you got it.
Doing it by mobile could be open to favoritism to certain members of staff or managers saying they are too busy or they forget
Doing it in black and white and signed for its done straight away

Doing it by seniority is what's wrong with that system. It's not allowed.

This is just meant for ad hoc requests if you have any leave outstanding and not to replace the main pick every year.

Credit where it is due I actually think the people app is pretty decent. Would be nice if in time you could also view what days or weeks still have spaces available in your office before you submit a request because no spaces being available is by far the most common reason to have a request refused.

Wouldn’t it make sense to advertise leave availability rather than wasting everyone’s time by being turned down for every application we make.

Leave shouldn't be allocated according to seniority.

And the app is meant for requesting the odd day of annual leave, e.g. book day off for a gas central heating service or something.

No because that would make too much sense.

Update: had the leave rejected because "leave slots are full"

Just applied for a Friday and Saturday in September, excited to see how quickly ill get it rejected 😂

Also- is there a way to cancel/change leave that is already chosen? (On the app, i know you can speak to a manager)
