Just for clarification

How can you have 5 x 8.5 hour shifts when the maximum working week is 37 hours?

I'm assuming that is a rhetorical question given what I've said in the rest of the thread.

your weekly average hours is irrelevant for working out meal relief, it's based purely on the day itself

I mean what are managers moaning about?

They just cannot understand what I've written. My manager is trying to force members at my DO to work O/T when they don't want it.

He's detailing people onto walks that take 6 hours including prep and then throwing them onto a 2.5 hour collection duty.

It's like banging my head against a brick wall.

Just do the 6 hour walk adding in the 30 minute meal relief, takes you up to 6.5 hours then do 0.5 hours of collection then finish as the 7 hours are up and fail the rest of the collection and go home. They wont give you so much work again.

Yes none of them passed any exams at school ,i think they all need a brain transplant, 8 into 7 just doesn't go. Most of my office do it properly in on time,prep properly ,make sure you do your vehicle checks,take your break,abide by the speed limit and drive safely,park safely locking all doors ,use the tools provided (trolley) ,don't cut corners, make sure your back in time to pouch off properly and leave bang on time. ( of course this means leaving a loop or 2 or bring it back) all this has been fought for by HSE and the Union over a number of years don't throw it away. I've heard horror stories of offices lapsing, that doesn't happen in our office,unity is strength,its time we all did it properly or the future doesn't look good .
