PREP RATE AND FRAME SIZE AND ADDRESSES TO SLOTS..

Post by L Tommo »

If anyone gets done or the threat of being done for prep rate on a RM2000.. Then tell the screws you wanna fix the frame to a one slot address and not two as some have... The frame is bigger & with sky and when you get thick flats they slide in ok... But with a two address slot we all know it bends the plastic back and missdeliverys can take place....

So the more the bastards chuck as us then the more we need a answer back... Give them the head ache of makeing all your frames bigger... Its reasonable to ask IF you have new blocks of flats on your walks added.. Or a road... AS the new cut backs of duties" im sure most will.... Then before the screws dig anyone out... have this up your sleave.... FECK OFF SCREW!!!! MAKE ME FRAME BIGGER.. I CANT GET ALL MY WORK IN AND ITS SLOWING ME DOWN....."

END OF... SCREW WALKS AWAY.... GOOD NIGHT.... :Very Happy

They will then be fully trained and expect to do the job just like me and you.
when I started it was 500 with no less than 4 missorts in 20 minutes , they gave us 4 weeks work , fortnight tipping then 2 on sorting if you failed you were down the road . Believe or not I was keen to pass as I'd been doing newspapers on nights , Express , Star and Sport for a area from Brum to Newcastle ,Ulster & Southern Ireland & everywhere in between , thousands and thousands of them for s**t pay £32-37 a night .

it's really gone down the toilet the job :lfo :cfo these two have made it a lot worse , they don't give a s**t , a cancer on RM

When a manager decides that someone is not up to standard then the manager has to talk to the member of staff to see if that he/she has a problem and the manager should then take into concideration to what training that person has had you have to make sure all the right procedures have been used correctly,as most staff never have any training or very little then the new procedure is very difficult to enforce,so they then have to train you.
When they are going to observe you for proformance standards they must inform you, the manager is not allowed to stand behind you they must observe from a distance, if a manager stands behind or beside you then the test is or should be dicounted as this would consititute harrassment RM's policy is to manage at arms length,no harrassment.
No manager should check to see if the items in the frame are accurate so in theory you can just flick the letters into the frame anywhere and not be checked for errors,in our office when the DOM became a pain in the neck we just picked up lumps of mail and put them anywhere so now they tend to leave us alone, its also worth remembering that you should only have one person to a frame, so if there is more than one of you then remind them that you should have a frame to yourself and that if thier is more then it knocks down the amount of letters you can sort,
Its worth finding out all these little bits to keep the managers on thier toes as the more info you have is like having a weapon to use as most managers dont know the rules or just to darn pig lazy to find out or learn, they are relying on the fact you dont know either so they can get away with sprouting any old tosh.

How the hell does that work then, and what's the point of the whole exercise.

Are we also talking IPS or prepping?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I just sort the mail for postcode area instead ie AB1 AB2 AB3 as it is easier for me than walk 1, walk 2, walk 3

I am glad I never get tested for this. I did ask them to train me to work throwing the walk a lot faster but they never did.

It's like our politically correct educational system nowadays - you get 10 out of 10 for effort but no one cares if you get a result

The whole point as we had it explained is to see if you can sort 25 items into a frame it is not about if you get it right thats the point it is not worth the paper its written on!

its also worth noting the national agreement is only to be a 1 minute test, not a 20 mins test nor is there a nationally recognised prep test for the whole duty being prepped.

The full IPS Agreement can be found on the CWU websites home page somewhere on the left hand side under where it says Agreements. Also there are LTB's on Individual Performance Standards in the LTB section.

The only test nationally agreed is a 1 minute test on a RM2000 frame where you are expected to sort at least 25 items in it.

For clarity sake read the IPS Agreement in full and read all the LTB's on Individual Performance Standards like the old saying goes "forewarned is forearmed".
