JP is right in everything he says.

The CWU "Do the Job Properly" did not include OT but units that "Withdrew their goodwill" did no OT and their actions as far as I am aware were successful.

However, although the agreement has been accepted and we have to work with it. I am afraid as a "No" voter I feel an urge just this one to say "Told you so".

The things that I was afraid of happening to units with low level Union representation, or those with weak or "in bed with the bosses" reps, are happening.
DOs are being told that Summer staffing is already in, outdoor working is part of the flexibility (ie over 3.5 hrs delivery span), bankable hours is in, no cutting off on Saturdays, no earlier starts on Saturdays, and in some cases its not the Managers who seem to be saying this but the reps   . None of these are in on a National Basis and therefore should not be on a local basis.

Sorry about the "Told you so" but I could not hold it in - its the last time honest

 :angel

If every1 cuts off, dont you think i'm entitled to take a couple of extra bags on docket?

i like a bit of OT!!
Whenever the flexibility kicks in there will be no OT  so you better get used to your flat week wages in the future (and remember no D2D money in the future)
disgruntledpostie1 thats not true friend :no no a quote from the agreement

Phase 2 - Enabling local flexibility
In order to become a competitive and responsive business, while upholding high standards of employment, Royal Mail needs to be able to use its resources effectively, efficiently and to adapt at pace. All offices will jointly draw up an agreed plan to be implemented by the end of January 2008 to enable local flexibility.

Objectives
The plan will meet the following agreed objectives:

• To provide the best possible customer service.
• To continue to offer reasonable local earnings levels.
In my DO our rep was given a letter telling him that OT was to be removed when the flexible working comes in. We where sold down the river by the union leadership by them agreeing to let individual offices work out the details which means (in my office anyway) that we do as the DOM wants or he introduces it anyway by EA.
Your Dom is trying it on friend  No one has been sold down the river its all there in black and white :Very Happy Changes will happen but safeguards are all through that agreement to protect everybody. If your rep looks a bit weak then get on to your area rep or if need divisional level and get them on the case.Your rep should put in a stage 1 disagreement and go through the I/R framwork, your dom should soon back off.
Thought we had done away with EA's since october according to the agreement!!! :hmmmm :hmmmm

No unfortunately the agreement in October was that any EA's in place since the vote in July and all disagreements would go back a stage. At least that's the way I read it. SO it means that they can still to EA but we can still go through disagreements and IAs.
