Everyone and his dog can see the deal is crap.
Its also a bit confusing. To me it seems like less money or maybe even a slight increase but more work.
At one time they were talking about 5 lots of d2d but it was going to be a nice wage increase.
An hour off the working week? Is that why we are collapsing an extra walk as of next week.
They are bringing all this new stuff in before we have the tools to do it.We haven't got any extra vans and we dont get all our small coded.
I'm going to be doing 20 mins on top of my 4 hour round and taking 5+ lots of d2d all for less money and a small lump sum? Where's this 5 grand they waved in front of us to make us work harder?
I'm going to be walking round for 6 hours when the machines actually start doing their job?
Honestly the job is just getting physically too much and the union can't even be honest and say "its the best we could get lads,we have no power anymore"

remember the "overpayed & underworked" statement,(not that it was ever true)well now the table is completely turned, rm wont be happy untill we are all payed the national minimum, we will never get a pay rise that is worth anything, they will simply take away a greater allowance & give a smaller amount back all the while loading extra work onto you :cfo will the last one out turn the lights off please :Boo hoo!

Honesty! Now there is a commodity in short supply within the ranks of the CWU, except at the lower levels. You see it would be honest to say we can't move them on this deal and we will put it to the vote but cannot recommend it - the decision is yours, which it is BUT we have a recommendation from the CWU Leadership and a majority vote from the PEC coupled with the CWU Circus visiting Cities across the country selling it as a good deal - now that is DISHONEST.
Particularly when they use bogus amounts of lump sums, and purport that the wording of the agreement is much more beneficial than it actually is.

Words like, AROUND, MAXIMISE, TRY TO AVOID are being touted as positives when in fact they are no such thing and the words are the words and the agreement will be implemented on them - so when you complain you will be pointed to an agreement signed sealed and delivered and told "well we said it would be around, we didn't say everyone we said maximise, we didn't say NO compulsory redundancies we said try to avoid" - you see the difference - it's no wonder it took four months to get the wording acceptable to both parties. These are just three examples but this agreement is absolutely littered with them. Job security - hah, 75/25 split - hah, almost every aspect of this agreement is against us but it wouldn't appear like that at face value - I would advise everyone to read the agreement thoroughly and to put the words in the TRUE context.

hope you are well?

I have read 'the agreement' and to be honest can't really make head nor tails of it. A lot of it does go over my head. However I have a few questions and comments to make on what I have observed. Hopefully some of the more intelligent and knowledge people on here can help me out.

Firstly, the CWU have agreed to call off the strikes until after Christmas, so they can 'talk' with Royal Mail. Is this REALLY a strong enough reason to call off the strikes? For more 'talks'? How do you explain to all the men and women that have lost considerable money, that their strike action has resulted in 'talks'. Some people have lost over £1500! For what? Absolutely nothing.

Now I know people are gonna reply and tell me we have an agreement where Royal Mail have to talk and listen to us. However IF they don't play ball we can use strike action again. Brilliant! Absolutely f**king brilliant! We were only just getting the public and businesses to support us with the current strikes. We were only just getting them to see it was Royal Mail that was the problem and not the workers. Now all the public and businesses hear is the strikes are over. That is all they read and hear and that is all they want to read and hear. They do not not give one flying f**k of the conditions that they are over or how long for. They know they are over and that is it. End off! If we had to strike again in the new year, do you really think we would have public support? I personally think we would have sweet f**k all support. If we were to strike in Janurary the public's frame of thinking would be 'those useless lazy gits got an agreement last month to stop striking, they was happy, now they striking again. Useless gits! Who do they think they are!?' The agreement as far as I can see is a joke and nothing more than a get out of jail card for Royal Mail. It has give them the breathing space they need to continue to do what they do best (divide and conquer, bully, ruin the service!) and get the public on side in the process. Well done Royal Mail. You have indeed played an absolute blinder. Take a bow.

I suppose it comes down to trusting Royal Mail and hoping they will play ball and that we won't have to strike again. Trusting Royal Mail? TRUSTING ROYAL MAIL? Rather the CWU than me. The trail of deceitful liars goes from your local DOM right up to Mr Adam Crozier himself. The CWU know this and yet give them the breathing space and time they need! I'm sorry but Royal Mail deserved absolutely no breathing space or time. They treat us the workforce like sh*t! We had them by the b*lls and they had no option but to take notice of us. The more strikes coming up to Christmas, the more Royal Mail would of had to have caved in and giving us something definite and concrete. Stevie Wonder could see that! What does the CWU settle for? Talks! F**king talks! Men and women didn't strike and lose pay to get talks as a result! We have indeed been sold down the river. We have missed a golden chance to get changes that will benefit us all. A chance I doubt we will ever, ever have again.

We are f**ked troops. Regardless if Royal Mail do play ball and we do get some changes. We will never ever have what we could of had if the strikes had continued. I don't think I have to explain how we'll be f**ked if we had to strike again.
