That would primarily depend on how eager they are for an affirmative. I intend to vote no anyway but I think it'll go through because the members have been worn down by the duplicity of the union and the mumbo jumbo, will we won't we, strikes on strikes off, progress made but not everything has been agreed.

I respect your views DVBUK but surely intending to vote NO on an agreement we have yet to see is about as valid as those intending to vote yes based on the Pay rise, backdated pay and extra bonus.

As with all the other deals, which I voted No to, I intend to read it and decide on balance if its a good deal or not. Any other approach is not one I could support or recommend.

We were told this when we got the 1st £100 last year. Though we have been lied to in the past , so who knows.

TBH TBT you're not going to need to read it, you know it's a wrong 'un just from the manner in which it's been conducted but mine is just one vote...........hopefully there'll be thousands of others

I want to see the agreement and make my own judgement on it but as dvb says I don't like the manner it was conceived by it may well be a bastardised agreement without the delivery element to it.If there is a solution for this problem it may well be a good agreement or it may not time will tell lets see the agreement first though!

it is simply not true to say that all the ills of the delivery membership is based on a few rogue area reps agreeing revisions.

So why do you think these failed revisions(and even by Royal Mail's account there were/are many) were voted in?

Our area rep didn't agree our revision we did but what he did do was turn up at our pre-vote meeting and tell the members that if they rejected those proposals then it would likely mean that we would lose our CSS slot and have to take a later slot meaning later starts.

He did this without having any input in the revision,without seeing any of the duties or any of the planning,that was his one input into the process and he might as well have signed off the revision himself.

It was needless to say a lie since the mail arrivals are supposed to support attendance patterns and duty structures not the other way around but by the time the Delivery Office manager had parroted the same line there was only one way the vote was going to go.
Luckily our revision was not a failure but it's no thanks to the area rep or branch.

Ours signed it off on the "I thinks it's best for your members to get the cash" and that's always the trump card. The same bloke who told our rep when he said he couldn't recommend BT2010 to the members after the roadshow - that he had to - of course he didn't. Later when he was asked to address the members on the issues surrounding BT2010, before the individual vote, refused citing that we had collectively voted not to accept. Just goes to show what sort of people are in charge of the union at local level.

I would never do that and know of no other area rep or would do that as well.

Yes we were suppose to have a 12 week review this was back in march 2013 and still waiting and various walks most days go over including my driving duty

I have no confidence in working parties coming into the office in the last two months we have had these because of B?H cases and the hear your say,

What has been done Zilch so I will vote no , I am not interested in the money only doing a fairs day balance of work, and right now and for the past 9 months not one person has listened to our attempts to get these duties rectified

The last (sh1t) agreement AKA Deal Of The Century was repeatedly vetoed by my office at local level, despite the Area Rep coming to our little office and telling us to vote YES.

'JUST SIGN THE BLOODY THING' was his mantra.

We didn't. We had been involved in walk testing, we knew that fatigue was an issue, that the delivery methods made the walks unachievable, and the compulsary 1/6 D2D per day would throw things out, etc etc.

We knew that we wouldn't be happy or willing to 'flex up' when figures exceeded the fictional model week.

So, the Divisional Rep came down. Started nice enough. We were sure we didn't want to vote this revision in . In the end he was making all sorts of threats of how if we didn't vote it in it would be brought in by Exec Action, and that RM would have managers from all over the place shadowing each of us on our walks.

We did bring up the point that Exec Action wasn't supposed to be part of this, it was ignored.

the threats, and the cash carrot eventually persuaded the members present (about 65% of the office) to turn in a yes vote. The absent members weren't balloted. The 'ballot' took the form of writing yes or no on a piece of paper and putting it in an open saucepan.

This same divisional rep put his signature to a letter to all CWU members a couple of months ago, telling us all to bac the Union with a Yes vote for industrial action, citing the poor implementation of the revisions as our main reason to be angry.

I'm still in the CWU, I left after the last Agreement, but realised that being part of a union is more important than pride, so swallowed my pride and rejoined. I'm not leaving again, even though I have no faith whatsoever in the Union at anything above local level, and even there it's so variable.
