I have an idea how to solve it but I admit it's a bit radical and unlikely to fly.
We deliver today's mail tomorrow.

Start at 0630,bag up then out on delivery for 4.30hrs then back to the D.O to sort and prep the following day's mail.
If members were struggling out on delivery you could send the flyers who got back early out to help them.
It's actually a far easier to resource model than the current one and since you finish work on indoor duties...no early finishes.
Not sure you would get it past Ofcom though. :cuppa

I like it. It has been suggested before, you are always working with a head of mail at the DO and everyone finishes at the depot.

Obviously not but if a manager stood next to you on the IPS wouldn't you say something?
Would that be bullying him/her?
If a colleague starts early it is exactly the same thing.
The behaviour needs to be challenged......that isn't bullying.
IF there is an agreement to stop people starting early then managers who ignore it need to be challenged.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

No it's not.
The reason it's not is because the relationship between rep and manager and the relationship between rep and member is entirely different.
It's my job to question management every day,our relationship despite the flowery words of joint statements is built on cynicism and mutual mistrust, that is our default position.

The relationship I have with my members is hopefully a little different and I would like to keep it that way.
IF there is an agreement to stop people starting early then managers who ignore it need to be challenged.
Happy to challenge management all day long but don't ask me to supply a list of early starters and meal break skippers, that's his job.

The conversation then gets silly.
Rep: People are still starting early.
DOM: Tell me who and I'll talk to them
Rep: No.

If one member is struggling to complete and consequently being compared to another member who starts early, which member are you having the cosy relationship with?

I know a lot of managers are :pray this doesn't materialise, it's not so much I want this to happen, where I'm based I NEED it to happen. False accounting of unrecorded 'good will' hours worked to get the job done MUST stop.

Leave it out ms, it's only 11 am - they'll not be out of bed yet, then it's brunch, bit of a natter, tea, biscuits and prawn sarnies followed by a release at around 1645 so by the time it's read they'll be out the door for cocktails followed by dinner, at your expense of course :wave
