did wonder if that might be the case...

sorry to hear that Spike... take it you wont be back in tonight. I'm waiting to see if I get a vouchers or get paid by 5, if nothing is forth coming, then I'm walking out. Enough is enough
ET1 online is the way to go, no costs to yourself, and even Weightmans RM Solictors will not be able to cope with all the ET claims, they will have to file a response, it will costs RM a packet if you excuse the pun. You can withdraw the case at anytime.

Ok you need to get paid, but its a complete joke doing it over the phone, when they must already have the details somewhere already. Data Protection anybody?

Have not been paid and will not work today. But what do you think of this.....?

On Wednesday we were told they had lost our bank details. RM employee comes round asking for bank details with spreadsheet and clipboard. I say I've already given them. He asks me to check them, shows me the spreadsheet with ALL casual staff bank details on it. Like I can read anyone's bank details. We challenge him about it, he says you can only make incoming payments with details. I think he's wrong (ebay, play.com?) but shouldn't Data Protection Act be interested in this? Can't believe these clowns are responsible for the nations mail, and THEY lectured US on security?

Hes right you can only make payments with your account number and sort code, there is nothing much more you can do, although i could pose as you with them details and withdraw inside the bank but i wouldn't know any of thother details of you like full name, DOB, security questions, so your safe. but also they should not be shown although any1 can have mine if they want to deposit :P

I was due to be paid my first lot today - but haven't had anything so far. Is the general agreement that we should just keep working and ask our RM supervisor to sort it out?

We were all talking of just going in and sitting out the shift there till something was done if none of us had been paid. Is that not the best way to go about it?

He is not correct, what about if you started setting up Direct Debits with other persons details?
And you would have all you need, acct number, sort code, name,

Direct debits to whom exactly? they're about the most traceable transaction there is. Plus they are covered by the direct debit guarantee so you could get your money back anyway. Without your name and address, security number and full debit card number and start and end dates your sort code and account number are no use to anyone other than somebody wanting to give you money. There's enough to get upset about on here, (and enough people who seem particularly naive) without introducing red herrings and worrying people unnecessarily.

My bank details, sort code, account number and home address were used to transfer over £3000 to an overseas account. Cheeky b'stards even tried to copy my signature (It looked nothing like the real thing) which was enough to fool bank staff at Natwest, thankyou Natwest my ex bank!

The letter they used to create the transfer was written in pigeon (Nigerian) English riddled with spelling and grammatical errors even the postcode of my home address was wrong, and my bank didn't even raise a query! Just started the transaction to an overseas bank branch where there are no CCTV systems cover the cash desk properly, money in cash (Euros) to be collected on production of a named passport holder (Strangely a Nigerian one). No repayment until I reported it to the British and Dutch police.

All this was as a result of a stolen credit card payment letter (cheque and credit card payment slip) - in the Royal Mail!!!!!!! Beware, NEVER give out your details unless you are certain that the person you are dealing with is bona fide and works for the company that are intending to pay you, and payment by cheque and credit card slip gives all the information needed to defraud you.

Cheque has Sort code, account number, copy of your signature, and if paying to a credit card company they request card number and address are indicated on the reverse of the cheque. So simple to defraud you!

I didn't say you did, just that direct debits are a pretty dumb way of trying to take money out of somebody's account because the recipient is clearly traceable and you, the account holder, can get refunded for transactions that you haven't set up.
