if that is the case i will be cutting off every saturday, my delivery was tested earlier this week at 4 hrs 50 minutes and that was around 90% of my delivery points
But your walk will be totally different anyway. Amazing new tools will make your workload fair and manageable.

"Planning for operational change in delivery units will be done using national planning and measurement systems, and revision tools to ensure that workload is assessed and applied accurately, is fair and manageable, and indoor processes and outdoor delivery routes are optimised, efficient and achievable – recognising any specific local issues that may need to be considered."

i hope that was a attempt at sarcasm

d2d are already supposed to be prepped and delivered in duty time

you only flex upto 30 minutes..not an hour

D2D delivery under new agreement is over 6 days, its up to the walk holder how much he delivers day to day,it doesnt need to be 20%(PERSONALLY I WILL LEAVE MOST OF MINE FOR THE COVER SEEING AS IM PART TIME) :dance
No you won't bitchface - part of the workload means just that - not to deliver them means you are wilfully delaying the mail, if there is a day specific one - you take it - no argument - even if your knees are buckling pushing an HCT................. sorry but that WILL be the rule if this agreement comes in.

The Boneheads at HQ are deffo living in Neverland if they think this deal is acceptable. In our office tbe average amount of drops is approx 600, and most duties get 3 D2D's a week, even at the lowest possible rate that is around £30 a week, then you add the early turn allowance of £12.37 we are in the region of £42+ for this we are asked to accept £20.60 for an amount which could be ad infinitum, and if you are a 20 hour contract you will get £10.30 for all this strife. Then to add insult to injury you have to accept that all the people who do not handle D2D's, callers office, Dom Support, firms drivers etc will get the same payment for doing sweet FA, yes this is truly a great deal!. Just one point changing the subject has anyone noted the line in the agreement regarding job security "In addition to the job security commitments contained in the MTSF Agreement - Royal Mail and CWU confirm that the overarching objective is to deliver the transformation without recourse to compulsory redundancies". In other words they have sold away the no compulsory redundancy commitment, it is now only something to aim for, but there is no actual rule against cmpulsory redundancies.

To go back to D2D's some time ago we had Bob Gibson come to our D.O and address the staff on the D2D issue, and whilst there he gave a commitment to us that only the people who were directly affected by D2D would be balloted on any changes to them, so where does that promise lie now Bob? In the gutter with what is left of the CWU after this deal. As far as I am concerned the National officers who negotiated this deal, and the members of the PEC who ratified this agreement should hang their heads in shame!

I fully agree with those sentiments. Anyone who cares to read this document will find there is no job security, there is no agreed span on delivery, there is no cap on door to door and there IS a pay cut - that's the reality for the membership.

The point about a callers office member, who has an unenviable task I might add, on a full time contract will get the full £20.60 but a part timer who delivers 600 drops x 5 gets less pay - FFS who in their right mind would agree to that? apart from the bloke in the callers office of course.

A union is about solidarity and unity NOT winners and losers. Bring me somebody prepared to FIGHT for the terms and conditions of the members.

Agreed it would appear that the so-called battle scarred veterans of a thousand wars have shown very little real courage.

Yes, a nice sentiment, but it always was and always will be about winners and losers.
It has never been fair, some with easier walks than others, some with 500 Door To Door payments more than others, but what you hear now, inevitably , is the loudest complaints from those that will be losing the most and that's from those with the most delivery points. No doubt those in the Callers Office or with 200 delivery points will be behind their least fortunate colleagues all the way ever if they're not too vocal on the subject at the momemt.

The point I have made is that the majority of Members in my unit will be taking a pay cut and will be subsidising the ones who don't. the "supplement" is a parasites supplement, I use the word advisedly, because that is what parasites do, live off another creature, and surely when we deliver 1000's of D2D in a week, those who don't will get their £20.60, in effect gaining from someone elses hard work. Please note I do not blame all the members who do not/will not deliver D2D's, they didn't negotiate this poxy agreement or should I say disgrace. Someone should show Dave and Bob et all which way the door is and make sure they keep going.

i thought i read somewhere in the 80 page agreement that the door to door payment will only be paid to delivery staff.... ie those in mail centres would not recieve this supplementin their pay.....?

anyway i thought all along this dispiute was never about pay but how to protect jobs.... which imo this agreement does exactly that.

If you could just point the rest of us to the relevant passage relating to the issue of protecting jobs we would be most grateful - because despite reading all three copies I have yet to see this myth of protecting jobs in black and white.

The D2D supplement will be paid to all delivery staff whether engaged in delivery or not. Mail Centre staff will receive another supplement which has been conjured up from somewhere but has nothing to do with D2D - oh and it doesn't involve any work.

Also, on a personal level I am PT ( 35 hrs ) and I am currently in receipt of ESA ( £10.82 p/w ) and I am struggling to survive now....if this goes through I will have to seriously consider my employment ( which I do NOT want to do, as it would adversely affect my depression - well the whole agreement does that, but that's another story for my counsellor ), simply because I WILL be one of those losers from the agreement - so how does that protect jobs? If I do go, and my job is replaced, it will be replaced with a 25hr job ( 10hrs gone from the office, so how are they supposed to be protected in this agreement? ). I will grant you that my rep has said that I will probably gain with a FT contract.....but that is his presumption, it is not guaranteed, and even if I do get it ( I'm 1st PT on seniority list ), how long will it take, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year? Even if I can survive till I get a FT contract, will it be worth it....seeing as I will have to wait 3 years before I earn the same or greater than my FT colleagues do now....and a lot can happen in 3 years ( 3 years ago, we had no clue of what was coming, viz, RM intransigence, Executive militancy, Govt. apathy, Union capitulation, Pay & Mod, EA, RM intransigence, Executive militancy, Govt apathy, Union capitulation, 2010 & Beyond! )

No need to reply to the above, it's all rhetorical - and nothing anyone will say can make a damn of difference, till the ballot result.....either way, I'm just going to have to keep on delivering, trying to avoid stages, CCJs &/or Bailiffs, and breakdowns ( physical or mental ).
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Errrmmm sorry to my MC colleagues, but no way should they be involved in our 'Delivery supplement'.
Moving on from that, there is also no way should those who do not actually 'deliver' get the supplement as well.
Now,sorry to my EX PHG colleagues, but i'm absorbing the stuff and delivering it and you lot get the supplement, well that's a joke.
It seems this part of the deal is,whoever walks into a DO gets it and it's wrong.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Oh, come on, don't leave us all hanging in mid-air in suspense, how exactly does this agreement protect jobs?
More to the point, exactly whose jobs does it protect?

Now you're talking - more to the point exactly whose future does it protect, yours, mine or those who don't actually work for RM at all but are employed by us!
