Advice On Georoute

Georoute about to be implemented in our office.All the walks revised but its been voted not to have a repick.My fixed walk has been lost under Georoute.I understand walks are put up on the board based on seniority but is there any official priority for the first new walks that come up due to the fact I have lost mine through Georoute or is it tough sxxx.

Can someone let me know what the official stance is ? :cfo

The understanding we have is that if a percentage of walks undergo a major change that constitutes a repick so if you have lost walks and all the others have changed then a repick should be inline...

There should be no vote about a repick.

If the criteria set out in the way forward regarding repicks is met then the office needs to have a repick.

You can't have individual offices deciding if they are going to abide by National Agreements.

If you ignore National Agreements then your office will have no argument next time RM decide they are going to ignore a National Agreement and that will leave your office without a leg to stand on!

I agree with Curly, if you look at resign criteria longs and shorts is major change so in theroy my DO could have a resign based on longs and shorts being implemented then another for pegasus.

But unless pegasus takes out/puts in a substantial amount of delivery routes i do not belive it will trigger a resign as the routes in my D.O are extremely logical already.

Georoute and Pegasus are one and the same. Georoute is the computer programme which tells you the fastest way to do a delivery. Pegasus is the name given to it by RM.

Not quite: RM class Pegasus as the complete package and Georoute the final part in which the routes are designed.

georoute doesnt work out the time of a walk its just info about the delivery and delivery points

I wonder but for far too long we have let royalmail rape and pillage our duty's and no one screamed loud enough i wonder if the union head quarters are DUMB FOR THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING FROM THE TOP!.

My understanding is that there isnt a full blown national agrement in place but CWU powers that be do not have a major problem with the general principle of using a computer program.

Best to look at LTB's on CWU website to get a offical national view point.

All the delivery reps in my area have been and are being given 2 days training on pegasus, mine is later this month.

I have done my sums for my office and pegasus will be hard pressed to take urban dels out. What it will do with rural routes is the thing to keep a eye on in my office.

You guys are in for a shock!!! Pegasus is in in our office. Loads of duties lost. The rest given between 100-200 extra drops. Top Pegasus union bloke came said everything has been done correctly in fact the best he'd seen. So the union is backing it. Although there is no national agreement.

Yep royalmail will not spend millions of pound's on "pegasus/geo route" for nothing or to re balance workload it is for saveing hour's your's and mine and everyone else's! for their own profit!.
