Post by sledger »

been off on long term sickness and am at present awaiting a referal on my condition.Have been assessed by royal mails occupational therapist and they have said i am unfit for work until further diagnosis and have sent a detailed report to my manager confirming this.My doctors surgery is suggesting that as the companies occupational therapist has effectively signed me off i no longer need repeat sick notes, does anyone know if this is correct,i am not so sure.

I would have thought you still need a a sick note your cover your absence and would be in your interest to keep obtaining one whilst employed by RM

A doctor's chit is a legal requirement if absent over seven days.
An Occupational therapist can now issue a Fit Note for an employee. Think that was what your GP surgery was referring?
