Office transfer procedures..if any.

Hello all,
I am in the process of selling up and moving from Essex to North Lincolnshire,I have worked for Royal Mail for 32 years and want to tranfer an office near to where iam going to live but does anybody know if there is a procedure in place to make an offical request to transfer to another office,I have spoken to my line manager who doesnt seem to know and is not being very helpful about it.I emailed both the operations director for Lincolnshire twice and have had no reply and also emailed the Head of Royal Mail HR who also has not replied and had no acknowledgment from either of them.Iam not getting anywhere with this and for a company the size of Royal Mail I find it astonishing that there seems no way of making a request offical.
So If anybody can give me some pointers or helpful suggestions as to try and get this moving or even better contact numbers or names of managers that i would need to speak to for the folowing offices,Barton under Humber,Brigg,Immingham or scunthorpe any of these are the offices which i would like to transfer too.Thankyou in advance

A postie moved to my town, and was commuting to his old depot.

His old depot were super slow about doing the transfer, so on his day off he came to our depot, explained the situation and our depot did the transfer for him.

He presumed his old depot didn't want to lose a postie, so were deliberately being slow.

There has to be a vacancy at the office you want to move to.
They are normally part-time and you normally have to be able to drive.

I agree that the transfer process has gotten far more complicated.
I remember there was a transfer form and you filled it in and waited your turn.

Why this was abolished, I don't understand.

I’m transferring back to my old office in Lincoln and they’re happy to have me back and the one I’m in is happy to let me go.

I just went in to see the mangers in my old office.

I’m transferring from the north.

your screwed its worse than ever to get a transfer and no point now because all the vacancies are only fixed term for 6 months and its up to them if u get renewed or lose ur job after 6 months so youll lose all ur terms and conditions u have the now. Best bet is to stay put, plus everywhere outside of london is a lot harder, everyknows london has it easy the further north you go the longer the delivery span.

This is incorrect you keep all your terms and conditions only thing likely to lose is hours as most vacancies are PT.

how is it incorrect? your terms in conditions ie they could let you go after 6 months if they want, its only a 6 months fixed terms contract u do the maths?

Because although all new jobs are advertised as 6 month contracts, if you transfer you are not a new starter.
You don't go on to a 6 month fixed term contract. You don't lose your seniority. You don't lose your holiday entitlement.
