Part Timer is off sick when a full-time vacancy becomes available. They are asked if they’re interested and say yes, please.
Then they suffer an unexpected further period of absence which results from disability and is acknowledged to be so by OHS.
When do they actually become full-time? Is it from the date of the vacancy? At the beginning of rehab since they are rehabilitating into full-time? After rehab has completed and they are in the full-time duty?
Thank you.

Lol, that means never if HR hasn’t been informed.

They send a new variation of contract through the post.
You then have to sign and return (in effect legally agreeing to them varying your contract).
If that hasn't happened you're still on your original hours.

Are they covered by the EA? if they are, might be worth looking into whether they can get a suitable duty ring fenced (anyone's guess whether that would be a PT duty or a FT duty)
