When and if we get a pay offer will this be back dated from

It has always been that way i think, but all bets are off this time.

It normally is backdated to April, and the imposed 2% already has been.

But a few years ago we have a rise that was only backdated to around October if I remember correctly, but we got a higher %age than we would have got had it been to April.
I think that was the union line anyway.

I doubt there would be any % increase anyways. Any extra money we get will probably end up as a lump sum packaged as a one off cost of living payment. £3-400 is usually enough to seal the deal.

any lump sum payment offered and most eyes light up like they've won the lottery regardless of how crap it really is,
"yes, get in, an extra £200" then slag the taxman off when he takes a large slice of the pie,
i seem to remember 1 pay rise lately was only backdated to when the agreement was made or something like that,
even the paltry 2% imposed on us the lump wasn't pensionable which i cannot fathom out why not when it's our basic pay rise.

No thanks, I’m still offended by the £200 Covid “bonus”. 2 years of Xmas style pressure and it worked out to about £1.92 a week extra.
