Re: Sickness
No, it's classed as a part abscence and is discounted.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Re: Sickness
Depends, if you have made a genuine attempt at your shift / duty it should be discounted. However if you’re sitting in canteen most of morning feeling unwell and made no effort at your duty they can count it I think. Also depends how often you do it!

Re: Sickness
You need to be informed, in writing, if management regard your number of part day attendances to be excessive and they intend to start counting them towards attendance reviews.

Re: Sickness
No why would you sit in canteen for hours if your feeling unwell just go home.also as long as you have signed in it will be part day sick as long as you return next working day. also for those who abuse it they will need to be informed in writing before any disciplinary.picture123 wrote: ↑11 Sep 2022, 18:57Depends, if you have made a genuine attempt at your shift / duty it should be discounted. Re: Sickness
Had some bullshit over the years with this, with managers making up all sorts as to how long you have to be in the office before it "kicks in".
Twenty minutes, half an hour, an hour, two hours, half the shift...just a randomly generated period of time, presumably in the hope that they'll "get better" and deliver the mail.
They always concede when I tell the poorly member "on account of your lino being an arse and making up and insisting on an arbitrary timescale, my advice, as you're clearly not well enough to work, is to sit in the canteen for the required amount of time...."

Sooner or later, a beat dog bites.

Re: Sickness
I’ve argued in the past and won that if a staff member has signed in then gone home the fact that they have made it to work is a genuine attempt so should go down as a part day absence
