Anyone else confused about last wageslip?

Hi.

Got my wage slip today. I've got no idea why it's got arrears of basic pay, also some overtime for 4 random weeks from May to August (and with amounts that are just pennies for each week), and then thirdly something that says 'Lump Sum (Npen)' which has been subtracted from the arrears of basic pay and is almost the same amount. Is it something to do with the strike? Some pension changes? As far as I'm aware, I haven't been owed any wages, so it's all a bit of a mystery! Anyone else had this or is it just me?

It's rm's way of giving you an imposed 2% pay rise.

Confused as hell with mine I’ve been off sick for a week which I know I don’t get sick pay just yet but I have had
£312 paid for overtime from last week
but then -229.97 for basic pay arrears
-5.02 fm supplement
-11.50 arrears of PSE
79.84 sick pay anyone shed any light
Left me with £168 overall don’t understand

Yeah, I'd just like to know what the lump sum was, which was added on, then a similar amount subtracted. Don't expect it was some kind of bonus. I came out with slightly more than my normal wage. Anybody know what 'Npen' means?

They took back what they gave you at start of july as was always the plan. your wage was slightly up due to the 2% payrise that was imposed upon us. npen means non- pensionable.

It was'nt back pay it was a payment upfront of the 2%rise imposed on us dated back from sept to april then the 2% kicked in at start of sept.

At the end of the day, my net wage was what I normally get, although it was about £7 up. Just wondering why payroll would bugger about like this. I ought to 'phone 'em up, but just wondered if anyone else has had any odd items cropping up on their payslips lately.

This is what I understand:

1. The arrears are the correct(ed) amount(s) for the imposed payrise that we were notified we were to receive.
The lump sum Npen deduction at point 3 is the removal of the incorrect lump sum you received previously, it
was what they thought it was going to be but was slightly incorrect for whatever reason - the RM accountants
probably ran out of fingers to count on. So the correct amount for you is the 156.03, but you were given 155.98 previously so
the 155.98 has now been taken off you and you've now been paid 156.03 so you gained a massive 5p! I lost 4p!
The original (slightly incorrect) amount was received on my pay slip number 13/2023 as 'Lump Sum (Npen) if you want to view it on yours.

2. Little bits of O/T - again probably the same reason.

The original lump sum was at the time a 'best guess' by RM accountants, they always said it might be corrected.
So you received a lump sum probably on pay slip 13/23. Since then they've worked out the correct amount,
so have subtracted that original incorrect amount and now given you the corrected amount (both on the same slip) which is probably
a very similar amount apart from a few pence.

Cheers for the explanation. It makes more sense now. Wish they'd announce these things though!
