We have been informed that new guidance has been issued in relation to delivering in the rain.

Any employee MUST, at ALL times, walk in between the rain drops. This will in turn prevent the employee getting wet, which in turn could prevent catching colds/coughs etc. Another benefit is that all customer products will remain dry.

On this basis, storm jackets will no longer be issued as part of the free uniform allocation. However, you may purchase a storm jacket at cost should you desire (the cost will be deducted from your next pay slip following purchase), but a rain drop tracker will be implanted in any new storm jackets issued from this point on, which will be communicating live data to your PDA.

As a result of this change, PDA's will have a new function added. The new function will automatically activate when one drop of rain is detected and as such will be monitoring the movements of the employee to ensure compliance of the new policy, and LIVE reports will available to view by Managers and senior management.

Obviously, it is recognised that due to unavoidable human error, not every rain drop can be avoided, so after consultations with various bodies it had been decided than a "Rain Drops Per Shower Allowance" (RDPSA) will be applied to the policy. The RDPSA per rain shower will be 47 drops, therefore 47 or less drops of rain will not be taken into consideration. However, 48 drops of rain or above will trigger a blue "dot" (blue representing the colour of water) on the PDA and you may be asked to explain if there was a particular problem or issue that could have contributed to the target figure failure.

This new policy has been introduced after successful trials in indoor areas where little or no rain drops were recorded, so it is now being rolled out to outdoor areas as well.
