Kretinsky

The split is probably inevitable. Matey has his parcels . (Who really wants their parcel delivered at 10pm on a Sunday night? More`s the point, which of us will want to do it?)
Nationalise RM .
Simple Simon goes to work for Amazon as he`s so enamoured by them.

Surely splitting GLS from RM doesn't also mean RM parcels will then be split from it's mail?

I can't understand what Kretinsky long game actually is, I assume with his background in owning energy co's he has no interest in owning a parcel co., so must just be in it for the money, if so, then does he really need to invest in RM just to make a few more £m's when he's already a billionaire?

In my mind the split has been the driving ambition behind privatisation along with the fleecing of taxpayers along the way.

Get the parcel network and all RMs property portfolio at cut price.
Hand the money losing letters and USO back to the government and keep the profit making parcels private.

If that was the real intention then haven't RM already completely split parcels and letters, not sure at present you could just split RM, but you could split RM & GLS.

Offer to run the money losing letters service for the government in exchange for a payment of £3 million per day from the government/taxpayer plus the postage revenues.

The gvmt could then use their acquisition of rm to compete with everyone else and set up their own parcel delivery within public company again

Why should the taxpayer pay for it regulate the market again as we are not in the EU tell the DSA companies they have to set up delivery of their letters business side.Or have Royal Mail take full profit from the mail they deliver and not subsidise private companies for the work we do at a loss problem solved!

Splitting GLS from RM means splitting the cash cow from the main business.

If anyone of us really knew what his end game is we would also be billionaires.
Maybe he will ditch the new uniform and dress us in claret and blue.
I'm forever blowing bubbles .....
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Because it wasn't really anything to do with us being in the EU? Just British 21st century pro-'competition' dogma run wild.

There's actually 3 parts that could in theory be split, RM, GLS and PF.

Indeed.

We used to be with Post Office Counters under The Post Office umbrella.
Along with Girobank , TV Licensing and the loosely affiliated National Savings Bank.
