Hermes attempted to offer this service. Where you took your unboxed parcel to one of their participating shops. Tried it once just out of curiosity. The shop keeper shrugged his shoulders and said "Why didn't you box it up. Can't take it like that!" Typical that RM go for schemes that have already proved to not work.

Could sort of work if it was more definitive in sizes, solid boxes or bags. If it doesn't fit, tough s**t. Not a chance if it's cardboard and tape, half of the amazon crap comes open in the post anyway, I wouldn't' trust whatever cheap junk we'd offer.

Like the PDA repair-boxes, fixed size/s, goes back and forth a million times with a new seal and sticker each run. Actually fairly green too. It is plastic but it gets used endlessly. Or even the delivery pouches you can seal. Or Blind tapes. The idea of packaging being brought isn't too stupid on its own.

I suspect this isn't what they want to offer though. Too intelligent.

No I'm not on "their" side. I just don't think it's (bringing some kind of packaging) a completely stupid idea, and could be worked without being a massive issue for us, unlike many proposals.

What if parcel collection takes off big time, and you end up with 40-50 a day, and you have to box them all up yourself at the door. Do you think they will accommodate duties for it? Or just lump them on us and expect everything else done too. It would take a full shift just to do it, probably longer.
Also:
Do your van checks.
Make sure to take your lapsing.
tracked/Specials.
parcels.
Make sure you knock on all neighbours doors (as Simon requests 1st time delivery )
Postboxes.
And ALL the mail.
…
But remember, you’re underworked and overpaid.

If these clowns carry on, they will never stop shovelling more work onto us until it gets to a point where we have more work to do than there are hours in the day…

I’m already getting weekly parcel collects where the customer hasn’t printed a label out, this will just take things up a level. Just about getting my duty done on time in August with no lapsing. Surely one for the collections staff.
