What can we expect realistically
So it's apparent royalmail are.playing hardball, they are not willing to meet us halfway, so realistically what can we expect at the end of this dispute, a win for me personally would be 6%, still have 1/4 Saturdays off, no banking of hours but a later start, I think this is a pipe dream, and it will be more like 4%, later start banking of hours and 1/6 Saturdays plus 1/8 Sundays.

Okay first of all lines in the sand.
No annualised hours, flexi-time and commit to deliver.
There are no versions of this I could sell to the members and to be honest I'm pretty sure they're unworkable. All of them potentially mean you have no control over your working hours and no work/life balance.
Potential compromises.
Changes to sick pay and possibly attendance trigger points, IHR and buyout of some allowances.
Phased implementation of parcel hubs and later starts but based on a latest 1500 final letter delivery with parcels only after that.
Pay.
Minimum 6% no strings with a further 3.5% subject to implementation of change.
No changes to terms for new starts.
No annualised hours, flexi-time and commit to deliver.

This job, already deplorable enough, will get significantly worse.
I wish to God I could say otherwise.

Re: What can we expect realistically
I think this would be quite acceptable by most of us. However I can't see how the final letter delivery would work if start times are pushed by an average of 2hours. It could be achievable for some offices but majority wouldn't be able to make it in my opinion. I would try to scrap these later starts all together but I am afraid royal mail is too keen to make it happen. This will be final straw for many.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 19:44Okay first of all lines in the sand.

Re: What can we expect realistically
I agree with the annualised hours bullshit, but I think everything else they won't back down on, and talking about pay no chance you will get 9.5%, not in this lifetime I said realistically.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 19:44Okay first of all lines in the sand.

Re: What can we expect realistically
We can expect the share price to keep dropping and when it hurts the big investors enough a change of CEO.
As long as the pay increase is a no strings deal then above 2% is an improvement
For the rest of it we fought for 25 yrs for our terms and conditions and iam not giving them up now.

Can they not just do the Asda/PLO thing, and say you either sign this new 'shitty' contract or leave, or are are union stronger than those company's.krussel wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 20:37We can expect the share price to keep dropping and when it hurts the big investors enough a change of CEO.

Forget this fire&rehire rubbish - not a chance in hell they would have the balls to do that to over 140,000 employeesdohnut wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 20:41Can they not just do the Asda/PLO thing, and say you either sign this new 'shitty' contract or leave, or are are union stronger than those company's.krussel wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 20:37We can expect the share price to keep dropping and when it hurts the big investors enough a change of CEO.

Re: What can we expect realistically
Annualised hours / start times / commit to deliver bullshit is what me and most in my office are fully against - and rightfully so (in our humble opinions).
These implementations alone would make the job not worth doing, at least not in the long run.

Re: What can we expect realistically
That's pretty much exactly my thoughts. I had been working off a ballpark of minimum 10% without strings, but I realise that we do need some change. Do you think this lines up with what the CWU are gunning for?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 19:44Okay first of all lines in the sand.

Re: What can we expect realistically
it feels like RM are just going to force the changes through and there is going to be a battle. Strikes after strikes and sticking to our current contracts when management try to force us to work according to the changes RM want.
We are at war.
If you need money then I suggest you do overtime now to make up for any loss in income from all the striking we are about to do.
