What if? Part timers…….

Post by 49erman »

If the RM forced all their changes through how would the changes affect part timers? For example a postie works 2 days Thursday and Friday contracted 7:05 - 14:40 what changes could they inflict? Obviously couldn’t make them work Sundays, but what could they ‘force’ them to do?

Your contract is almost certain to say something like "or as directed".

They could force you to do anything they want.

You’re contracted to work a certain number of hours, not contracted to certain days I am afraid.

Your contract is in hours not the times of day you work or the days they could make you work 12pm Sat till 7:40 Pm and Sun 9 am till 16:40 pm but who knows you at least now get a premium for sunday working. Years ago we got a saturday premium for doing 5:30 am to 10:30am of £12 long-time ago how soon it changed working till 3;00pm.
