Union pros n cons

Best friend at work thinking bout doing the union job as hes fed up the way the office has been going last few years . Whats the pros and cons ?

Honestly it's for masochists.
People who haven't done it will tell you it's the ability to help people etc.
You could help a hundred members and still be called a prick because the members don't get to go home two hours early.
If you're looking to get anything out of it you shouldn't be in it.

Has some pros, seems that the Union rep’s duties are never altered. They can pick duties with mega overtime knowing they’ll rarely carry them out. Night shift reps were ‘working from home’ during pandemic so saved on travelling costs whilst doing day shift.
It’s a thankless job though, good luck to them all !
