Influx of hire vans
Our large office has just had10-15 hire vans delivered. 10-15 casual staff started last week.
I believe they are going to give casuals tracked items and oversized parcels from deliveries as well as LATs.
This will allow delivery revisions to make walks a lot bigger.
What pisses me off is the staff who did LATs until now will be put back on delivery in crappy vans while the casuals get 21 plate dab Bluetooth auto air con transit and don’t even have to deliver a letter!!!

I think it might be just the LAT hubs that getting them. We've heard from other posties other Lat Hubs have got them too.
Manager says its vans for xmas since they couldnt get any last year but it sounds like bs to me.

RM are most likely gearing up to deliver all the Tracked from the parcel hubs should we go on strike? Assuming the agency staff will be prepared to cross the picket lines.

The extra vans are for the implementation by executive action of the parcel hub strategy.

Re: Influx of hire vans
That's what we suspect our COM is a surprised as us another 4 turned up yesterday. We are down south and our mail centre won't be separating large and dispatching later so I can only presume we will sort the large and leave it in the office for the agency to deliver. So in line with the non cooperation we will presumably just asked to take extra loops from neighbouring deliveries to fill our day rather than structurally changing the walks. Don't care how it's done as we will fill our day just a bit disappointed with the lack of comms from CWU HQ on it all.

I would think Both Daventry ( When Operational ) & Warrington will be making up Direct Yorks to each LAT Office

That's what I was suspecting along with implementing alternative staff to deliver them.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑09 Aug 2022, 06:32The extra vans are for the implementation by executive action of the parcel hub strategy.

It’s already being done out of the North West, we have the odd sleeve coming in from there every morning. 30/40% of it is for other offices within the postcode area and shouldn’t be delivered to us.

Are you a LAT or parcel hub?Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑09 Aug 2022, 21:02It’s already being done out of the North West, we have the odd sleeve coming in from there every morning. 30/40% of it is for other offices within the postcode area and shouldn’t be delivered to us.

LAT yes, on list to become parcel hub. We were told they have already started sorting direct to soon to be hub’s via the north west.

Re: Influx of hire vans
The stuff from the hub is mixed small and large makes no sense for their strategy. We will still get it early and take the small and the missorts out and put the 3 large to one side for the agency to deliver later most likely to a house we were going to with a small parcel and a letter. It is the most f****d idea anyone has ever come up with.
