Re: Union pros n cons
No pros, all cons.
Honestly it's for masochists.
People who haven't done it will tell you it's the ability to help people etc.
You could help a hundred members and still be called a prick because the members don't get to go home two hours early.
If you're looking to get anything out of it you shouldn't be in it.
I do it as a form of self harm.

It's utterly s**t but who else is going to sort it out if not you?

Yes go for it. It’s cheaper than paying Mistress Tania to thrash your bare arse at the weekend with nettles and knee you in the Jacobs.

Go for it.

Overdeveloped social conscience?
I've been a rep for so long now it's hard to remember the original naive activist who thought he could make a real difference.

Re: Union pros n cons
Has some pros, seems that the Union rep’s duties are never altered. They can pick duties with mega overtime knowing they’ll rarely carry them out. Night shift reps were ‘working from home’ during pandemic so saved on travelling costs whilst doing day shift.
It’s a thankless job though, good luck to them all !
