Is this your office,
Lack of staff
Plenty of overtime going
Walks not going out
Managers not giving to hoots and i'm sure their is plenty more example.
Does any of these things resemble your office???

there seems to be a pattern here, except for the manager bit, get your rep to check you have the correct amount of reserves, if not your manager isn't doing his job properly, and you should write a letter to your area rep and copy your area manager in, and in doing so you are bringing it to their attention and making it formal.

We've got about 6 vacancies at our place,3 of them drivers, some have been vacant for 6-8 months.
They wont fill them, they want jobs to go and 30hr contracts which we're fighting.
Casuals we've got are useless, walks left in pouch box's for days, loads of shabbs, and one guy reg finishes at 5 PM.
Walks on docket are also regulary finishing in the early evening.
Welcome to RM's cost cutting drive.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Our reserves are covering walks due to sick, 6 people have left only to be replaced by part-timers who fail to stay more than 3 months because the shoved from one walk to another.
Someone in our office got asked to work Saturday and Monday(losing his long weekend) could only work Monday only to be told we can't promise your walk will go out on Saturday, maybe first class mail only. Some first class service.
What makes me laugh is that our manager wants to take out 300 hrs.

I'd have just told them to shove it, I'll see you on Tuesday.
It's the same in my office vacant FT duties covered by part timers, holiday reserves covering for long term sick, constantly asking the same people to come in on their day off plus more hours to be cut out of the office

Re: Our union has let us down badly!!!!!!
In my opinion it is RM's intention to run the business into the gutter so that the service becomes so bad it will be privatised!!edinburghsteve wrote:Is this your office,
